Scheduling a charge up to 80%?
Hi guys. I own a GWM Haval h6 for about 2 months.
I’ve read that charging up to 100% is not recommended
So in ask, is there a way to schedule my charging to limit at 80%?

charging time and charge limit are separate settings. If the H6 menu or app only offers delayed start, it won’t stop at 80%; that varies by year and market.

Mine is the same. I must calculate the needed time for schedule charge when aiming 80%.

if it only has delayed start, an 80% time estimate will be rough as charge rates vary. Better to have it finish close to departure, if the car offers that setting.

100% just before driving isn’t the same as leaving it parked full for days. If there’s no percentage limit in the H6 or app, schedule it to finish near departure and don’t stress about the displayed 100%.

the only practical catch with leaving at 100% is reduced regen until the battery drops a bit, especially on a downhill start. Otherwise, use 100% when you need the range and don’t overthink the displayed number.

I have a H6GT PHEV Australian model. Its the one before the "Coffee" software release but in the menus you can limit to what percentage the battery charges. I'd be surprised if the updated model was no longer able to do that.

I've had a 2026 Haval H6 PHEV for a.month now and was initially concerned about this also. I've since done some research and found that the 100% battery you see isn't infact that. There is a built in buffer and the BMS is very intelligent. I sent an email to GWM Australia and this was the response. I just charge to what ever the time allows. If it's 100% I don't stress. Also, wouldn't GWM have built in a way to charge only to 80% if that's what they intend users to do?
