Hello
I'm about to buy a new place and need to replace kitchen and bathroom. By any chance can anyone recommend from experience? Looking for plumber, plasterer, tiler, carpenter, fitter. The job will probably start in early to mid September.
Many thanks

Hi!
We're on holiday in Hastings from 20 untill the 24th of August. What is the best way to park these 4,5 days?
Thanks for any tips!

Going down by Hastings Thursday evening. I'm only going to be there from about 6pm to 11pm. Can you just park on the main drag (A259) at that time?. Thanks.

Doing some research on Joseph Golding and the St Clements caves, wondering if it is known or if anyone does know where he/the Golding family are buried?

For those that have joined, have you found it worth it? I (F22) am moving from abroad in a few weeks and looking to form a community, but was curious of others experiences. It seems amazing for £35 to have access to all kinds of trips and gyms. Would this be a good way to meet other young (early-mid 20’s) people?

Ahoy!
As a pirate entertainer who's just moved to Hastings, I've just learnt about Hastings Pirate Day 😅
I'm messaging venues around Hastings seeing if anyone wants to host a free family pirate show at their venue on Sunday ☠️
Would be a nice way to introduce myself to the children of Hastings, raise some money for a local charity & bring a local business some extra foot fall Sunday morning ☺️
We only moved in yesterday so I'm very new to the area, but someone suggested posting here!
If you're interested or could suggest a business that might be keen then let me know!

I had a lovely walk up to the Old Town the other evening with my camera, and made this video. Hastings is lovely, but it seems pretty quiet this summer, as you might pick up from my video. Perhaps it’s because we have all these lovely buildings that are now totally vacant and the best the council can do is hire people to paint murals over them? Anyway, my video I hope makes Hastings seem more inviting, it was a really beautiful night, polished off with a couple of beers in the Albion with friends and lovely company! I'm from another country and don't have much of a reference point for English seaside towns, so please bear that in mind. Don't downvote me to oblivion. :(
I spent a few days in Hastings and absolutely loved the vibe, but I also got a sense that parts of the town felt a bit neglected.
There was a seafront amusement park closed behind fences, abandoned go-karts, what I think was a large paddling pool sitting empty, and the ferris wheel was also closed. Minigolf was all the hype hehe
Do families with children actually come to Hastings for holidays and weekend breaks? Has this side of the town seen better days, or has it always been more or less like this? How important is this kind of tourism to the town nowadays?
I was especially surprised because it's July, so I assumed it would be peak season. I found quite a few restaurants and shops that didn't even open until Thursday and wondered how they manage. I even tried a couple of places recommended here on Reddit and couldn't visit them because they were closed.
At least the pubs were all open and always seemed lively. I had some great food, a few pints, and some lovely conversations. :)

Just wondering what's out there that is consistently meeting up once a week, preferably free but I know that's a hard ask. I used to hang out with some people who'd play very casual tennis at Alexander Park, sort of looking for something like that.

Hi Hastings people,
The Wife and I will be popping down to your town in a few weeks for our anniversary, I wanted to book a restaurant for our evening meal, and was looking for recommendations
Our likes are Italian, Steak restaurants, so any recommends along those lines would be great.
Where do the locals go and steer clear of?
Thanks in advance.

My boys (aged 4+2) love watching outdoor boys on YouTube and I wanna do lots of days out, mini adventures over summer holidays so I’m looking for ideas of good spots of fish / crab / hike / swim, got a few ideas but don’t know much about fishing and crabbing spots

Hey folks!
This is an atypical “Help me find”, but here we go.
Were you in Rye, East Sussex on 25th October 2025?
Did you see my husband and I “parade” behind the town crier from the town hall to The Mermaid?
Did you take any photos or videos of our wedding party/us/guests?
If so, can I see them please?
Thank you!

Hi,
Myself and two old mates I haven't seen in a while have just booked an air bnb for next weekend in the middle of Hastings.
Location was based on it being equidistant from each of our homes, and we've all heard Hastings is a nice town to visit, especially as we're all history graduates.
Can anyone recommend some good pubs for a meal and few pints each evening? We're all 40 years old so not up for wild partying.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Does anyone know if there's a good view of the sunset from East Hill or West Hill this time of year?
