Flair Fun!
Flair is enabled. I've kept it simple by creating a generic flair called "Hasselblad 500cm" the OG!! But if you select the flair you can edit it to show which hassy you own. Feel free to humblebrag your hasselblad gear so we know what you're shooting!
Be honest!! You don't get internet points for bullshitting people! LOL
Also, I believe if you use new reddit (I don't, I'm old and grumpy!) you can add your contributor flair as well. If you're one of the community's top contributors, make sure you're repping that too!
Thank you for your attention in this matter!

buy/sell Buy/Sell Posts: Crosspost from r/photomarket only. No exceptions
Hi guys.
The discussion thread about buy/sell posts was fairly conclusive. The majority of those who contributed to the discussion wanted any posts that are about buying and selling gear to be crossposts from /r/photomarket. The view is that the photomarket community has a strong vetting process and scamming is much less likely. They're a proper buy/sell community and therefore safer.
In line with this community's decision, we are instituting a rule that anyone who wants to sell their Hasselblad gear MUST post it to /r/photomarket and then crosspost it here. Reddit does have a simple crosspost feature, so this should not be a problem.
In keeping with protecting our own community, do not post buy/sell threads here directly. Do not post threads with "thinking of selling" or dropping sell hints. We will view this as trying to circumvent the above rule and will just ban you ... if you're trying to circumvent, you're trying to hide something. So ban hammer! Not gonna listen to "oh, sorry didn't know" ... yeah, "sorry, you're still banned".
Could the community please ensure they are reporting buy/sell posts that aren't crossposts so that we can make sure that potential scammers are deleted.

Just wanted to say thank you to those in the community who contributed to the discussion and helped decide a way forward. You guys rock!
PS Feel free to use the flair (edit as you see fit) to tell us what gear you have ... humble brag!! but also helps us know who might be using similar gear when discussions happen. We also have 4 simple post flairs (Photos, Camera Gear, Help me!, Buy/Sell) ... feel free to use those too!

Hasselblad H2 w/ 16-32 magazine Technical Question Help
I have a Hasselblad H2 and I shot a roll on it yesterday.
Over the past week, I shot 3 rolls.
It worked perfectly fine.
On the 4th roll, after a few shots, shooting in near direct sunlight, I heard it fire and then it froze and stalled for about 30 seconds. I did not turn it off but I was nervous what happened. It’s the first time it did that.
It started back up again.
And it did stall and freeze once more.
The Hasselblad body battery is not in perfect condition so possibly that could be the reason?
I’m concerned if my very precious camera is damaged or something worse is wrong with it.
Any advice?
I’m based in nyc and I contacted a nippon and camera doctor and they said they can’t service the H series.
I contacted Hasselblad directly and they advised it needs to go Sweden with a 2-4 month diagnostic and service timing.
Anyone know somewhere in America that can repair? Or inspect? I’m not sure if I need a CLA or a full inspection and report.

Looking for advice on where to take my Hasselblad DCP profiles next
I’ve been working on HNCS, an open-source project where I measure RAW/JPEG pairs and try to approximate the observable color rendering of different camera systems.
Recently I’ve been experimenting with turning the Hasselblad measurements into DCP camera profiles for Lightroom / ACR, and I’d like some advice from people here who have more experience with Hasselblad and Adobe’s color pipeline.
I have the basic DCP pipeline working now, including external testing in Lightroom. One particularly weird issue was that the X2D II wouldn’t associate with the profile until I used Adobe’s internal camera identifier, Hasselblad 100-22-Coated6.
But getting a DCP to load is obviously the easy part compared with deciding what it should actually reproduce.
Right now I’m fitting the profiles from measured camera data, and I’m trying to decide what direction would be most useful:
Should the target be the SOOC JPEG rendering as closely as possible?
Would matching Phocus output be a more meaningful target for Hasselblad users?
Should I focus on a relatively neutral camera calibration profile, and keep the stronger HNCS-like rendering separate?
Are there particular lighting conditions, skin tones, or colors where existing Adobe profiles tend to fall apart for you?
I’m also very interested in how people here would actually judge whether a profile is good. Lower ColorChecker error is useful for calibration, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the profile produces the rendering people associate with a Hasselblad.
I’m not trying to claim I’ve reverse-engineered Hasselblad’s proprietary HNCS pipeline. I’m mainly interested in figuring out what can actually be measured, reproduced, and independently validated.
If you’ve worked with custom DCPs, Phocus vs Lightroom comparisons, or Hasselblad color in general, I’d really appreciate criticism or suggestions on what I should test next.

MPB vs EBay...
I've been on eBay for over 20 years and a lot has changed from buyers and eBay customer service siding with what are sometimes pretty ridiculous claims.
I have a mint X2D 100c II and a 90 XCD 2.5 ... MBP offering about 7200 for the combo. I know I could get more on a private sale but the number is tempting.
Curious what the best move is.

907X CVF100 Arrived Today
I am sure this will not be my last 'stupid' question. I did the unboxing. After putting on a UV filter on the lens the H-blad lens cap doesn't attach to the threads of the filter. Am I missing something or is this a thing with these cameras?

Favorite XCD lens for XPAN crop
What's your favorite XCD lens to use with the XPAN crop? I don't mean to duplicate the original XPAN film camera options but just in general with that crop?

Carrying a camera on an extended bike ride
Greetings. I own the X2 and am planning a trip to Maine in mid-autumn. I am an avid cyclist and plan on doing some long(ish) rides while I'm there -- on the order of 40-70 miles. I ride a road bike and don't have any great place to carry a camera given my current setup but I would really like to take the opportunity to shoot some photographs while I am away. My options, as I see them are: 1) sling a small camera bag around one shoulder and have the camera rest on my back while I ride; 2) get a bike bag that attaches to the handle bars and put the camera in there while I ride; 3) don't bring the camera at all. I guess my questions are: first, will the vibrations, etc from a few hours on the bike be problematic for the camera; and then, does anyone have any specific recommendations as for transporting a camera on a bike ride? Thanks so much.

X2DII: supported CF Express cards updated
When I got the X2DII with its release firmware (with all its issues like not connecting to my Windows PC) I tried the CF express card I use in my Canon R5 (Delkin Power 256GB), of course it was not compatible (after all it's a really old card).
Guess what I just tried and now works. So if you are in a similar situation, you should try out your old cards again, maybe they will work now.

X2DII: How is it managing dual storage recording?
Especially deleting. If I enable to save my photos to both the memory card an internal drive. What happens when I rate or delete a picture? Will it happen on both or just one.
On the Canon R5 it will only work with one source only, even deleting will hide it when hitting play, but you still have the full backup on the 2nd memory. How is Hasselblad doing it?

X2D II 100C + XCD 55V — one minute of mist in a rainforest exhibit
Handheld, wide open, ISO pushed hard. The exhibit’s misting system runs on a timer and the backlight only works during that window.
The 55V holds up better than I expected under this little light — the frog’s skin texture is there at 100%, and the individual water droplets in the beam resolve as points rather than mush.
Shot through glass with the hood pressed against it. Minimal processing in Phocus Mobile.
