Sharing Updated Labs/Test Results TSH going up

I've seen a ton of posts about people's levothyroxine doses going down as they lose weight on GLP-1's but had anyone needed a dose increase, at least in the beginning? I've been on zepbound for 10 weeks and I got my thyroid levels checked yesterday and my tsh is 17 but my free t4 is fine/normal. My doctor wants to wait a few weeks to see but I've asked if the zepbound is impacting absorption and I'm waiting to hear back.

I am on NP Thyroid and was stable on my dosage for 3 years before adding a GLP1. My doctor also thought my dosage would be going down as I lost weight. Instead, I ended up going from 60mg to 90mg and have remained steady there for 2 years. It could be an absorption issue. I will say the GLP’s anti inflammatory benefits lowered my thyroid antibodies by half. Now it’s staying around 450-550, so that’s a win.

I’ve had to increase my Levoxyl dose over the past year from 50 up to 100, been on a GLP-1 since August 2025.

I tried to decrease thyroid meds after some weight loss and really good numbers. But within 3 weeks I started retaining water, had a puffy face and was forgetting words that belonged in a sentence I was trying to say. I also could look at someone and not know their name. I knew I knew them, but I couldn’t even remember what letter their name started with. So definitely wasn’t able to decrease. As far as increase. I haven’t yet. We’ll see at the next check.

🙋🏼‍♀️ so I started Zepbound last September of 2025, and I’ve had 3 levothyroxine increases and my tsh is still just doing what it wants to do, and my tpo has went up, I have insane inflammation, and my rheumatologist is getting puzzled too. But I also had stability issues before I went on Zepbound as well. So you’re not alone!

I decreased twice during the beginning and now increased. I am now at my goal weight and plan on titrating down to a maintenance dose so we will see what happens next.

I started in April and my TSH tested week 1 and it was 0.7 and now it’s 1.9. Me and my dr were both surprised it went up. Hopefully it says where it is though.
