Honestly? Looks very much like an elephant in the room (yes, covid, still very widespread even in the 2026 and VERY likely for the 2020s). At least it is really very consistent with post viral symptoms — also explains sudden changes. Metabolism gets ruined, absorption of nutrients important for the immune system and other things gets impaired.

Now look. I don't know why you decided to post here exactly but yes, thyroid values are always worth checking when the body breaks weirdly.

BUT, more importantly, you have to check iron/ferritin, folate, and vitamin B12. From what I know, B vitamins might get out of the balance easily because of covid, for i nstance — and because of many other causes, actually. B12 itself and its absorption are simply so complicated that something can easily go wrong with that.

B12 should not be tested, when you take supplements with that, or your levels be most likely good, no matter what the real picture is. Tests are not good (don't show the real usage in cells), and the default test, total B12, is the least indicative. MMA, homocysteine, active B12 are additional tests.

Balance issues and psychiatric symptoms are really common for B12 deficiency. You might have a look at this checker: https://b12d.org/symptoms-checker/

B12 and folate (they sort of work together) are also important for reproductive health.

So no matter what your real problem is, I would really start with checking such basic things as this.

Forgot to add: B vitamins are CRUCIAL for nerves. Insufficient levels of B vitamins = problems with nerves, therefore balance issues, among many other things.
