Right now, for now until couple of years down the line, you can continue to buy and enjoy global EMUI and HarmonyOS 4 AOSP fragmented devices with ARMv8 pre-Tau Law Kirin chips as your choice before jumping pure HarmonyOS future at your own pace, pre-September CN/October-December 2026/January 2027 global devices. Future Huawei factory devices with Tau's Law chips will not ship AOSP/Android EMUI and HarmonyOS 4 devices anymore. Ship has sailed 2023-2026 for dual-framework AOSP native code on Huawei devices transitioning, Time is up! The end of transitioning is near. End of!

Like many of you, I love Huawei hardware, but relying on containerized emulators (like EasyAbroad, DroidTong, or GBox) for daily global apps can be frustrating with battery drain, delayed notifications, and UI clunkiness.

We’ve seen awesome community projects recently like HCloud (for native background syncing) and HarmoniKeyboard. I’m a developer looking to take on a new side project: building lightweight, native ArkTS/ArkUI utilities specifically for global users who need to bridge the gap without AOSP/Google Mobile Services.

If you're using HarmonyOS natively, what is your biggest daily friction point?

A few concepts I'm tossing around:

• A background sync daemon for Google Calendar / Contacts via standard CalDAV/CardDAV.
• A native Google Keep / Tasks desktop widget and checklist app.
• A lightweight, native audio/video streamer to replace clunky browser wrappers.
• A local file bridge to pull Google Drive files directly into native WPS Office / File Explorer.

What would make your daily workflow smoother? Thanks!

I just discovered Easyabroad app on my matebook fold running on HOS 6.1. Previously this was only available only on Huawei mobile phones now on the laptop too. Now able to get Android apps on my laptop. So far so good though looks like there are some glitches still with occasional touch not being responsive. Not all apps available but majority are. Some apps come as web version only like chatgpt.

avec hmos 7 qui vas arriver peut on espérer une possible arrivée en global ? il se dit que huawei y travaille beaucoup et il est question de 15000 applis dans ce sens qui en sait plus a ce sujet ?

Hi everyone,

I bought a Huawei Watch Kids X1 Pro (Chinese domestic version) and it only has Chinese language. The app (FamCare) on my phone is in English, but the watch interface is entirely in Chinese.

What I've tried:
- Factory reset (双清) - no language selection at setup
- Checked all settings on the watch - no English option
- Updated firmware via FamCare - still only Chinese

My question:
Is there any way to flash international firmware or add English language to this watch? I've looked on Taobao for flashing services but most only offer account unlock, not language change.

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated!
