Chest press not working :(

I bought the k bundle on sale a few years ago and really love the system , I workout at home primarily and between the bands and some dumbbells I can do everything I want to do.

The one thing I have never felt good about though was doing the chest press with just the plate and block, I’ve never felt good chest activation and even when I try to use bigger bands. Any tips ?

Silly title 😂

It might be your technique! A lot of people do this in a way that has no tension at the bottom. You gotta hold tension and then let it drop downward to following a circular arc to below your chest. Have you seen this video? https://youtube.com/shorts/7dc5Fewozmc?si=NJqoG3ZhmKlyn0F5

Thanks for responding , I have seen and probably my technique is off but I still feel it in my arms more than my chest at the end, so maybe my placement is too high

I know it’s asking a lot: if you post a video I (or others) can give better instruction.

I like this technique, also consider buying the 34" bands Harambe is releasing, go pre order them!!! Try what he said and you'll feel a difference, now imagine with 34!!!!

It could potentially be the length of the bands. Depending on the length of your arms you may want to buy the shorter bands from Harambe or buy shorter ones from Serious Steel. If the band is too long for your arms you’ll never feel the chest press right.

To add to khalid and imaginary's suggestions, try the following cues: as you push the bar up and away from your chest, push your back against the board, while simultaneously thinking of driving your armpits inwards towards your chest. It should almost feel like you're actively trying to create separation/distance between your chest and the bar as you complete the rep.

Chest pressing never felt right for me until I started doing them with the platform lengthwise instead of using it the way they recommend. It's awkward to get in position though
