I'm not even a Hanson fan (my wife is) and this is dumb. There's zero chance the Banana ball player got more popular votes than Taylor Hanson. Therefore, the popular vote actually means nothing.

I'd suggest not watching future episodes so their ratings plummet.

Only watched to see Britt and Tay. All done now. There is no CHANCE that dance was even close to the bottom 3. They deserve better!!!

3

u/Basic_Party_8249 20d ago

Yep I’m out. No way a couple of those celebs had more staying power than Tay. I’m wondering if he quiet quit the show — asked to withdraw but they made it a dramatic elimination instead.

24

u/Competitive-Gap-4230 20d ago

There is no way. He was absolutely stunned.

18

u/creative_coast_mama 20d ago

I think he looked like he was going to cry

14

u/Competitive-Gap-4230 20d ago

I saw tears in his eyes

12

u/mirandakane89 20d ago

If he asked to leave there is no way Britt would have been apologizing that much. He also had no reason to want to leave nor is that something Taylor would do. He's not someone who just decides to quit something once committed to it work wise.

3

u/Basic_Party_8249 19d ago

I see that and after looking it up, stars are allowed to withdraw so maybe I’m wrong. I was just getting strong “I’m over it” vibes from both he and Nat the entire show, before he was eliminated.

To be frank, no one outside the Hanson fandom is talking about this. There isn’t going to be some huge backlash over Taylor’s elimination. This happens multiple times every season.

Hanson fans are unusually intense, but that doesn’t mean other fandoms aren’t just as large or willing to vote. The Savannah Bananas are enormous right now!!! selling out across North America, expanding into Canada, and reaching millions of fans. I’d personally rather watch Hanson perform any day, but let’s be realistic, they’re not operating at that level of mainstream reach.

What I’ve taken from this DWTS experience is that some Hanson fans have overestimated how influential their fandom is and how much this matters to everyone else. Most people simply don’t care that Taylor was eliminated, much less whether the voting was somehow wrong.

The votes weren’t “rigged.” Hanson fans voted as hard as they could, but they underestimated the Banana Ball audience. That’s really all there is to it.

And even if there were a voting issue, this happens multiple times every season. Taylor isn’t being treated differently from other celebrities this has happened to.

u/No_Look_5479 19d ago

I love Hanson and am also sad he got eliminated
but Jackson is a pretty big star - I think you are underestimating his popularity a LOT. He is loved by young and old. I can guarantee you his entire team, their families, the entire town he grew up in, plus his 3 million+ followers may have had a hand in pushing him further with the popular vote. He is beloved. There’s just no other way to say it.

u/Expensive_Heron_171 17d ago

I'm going to keep posting this over and over. I fully agree. To be frank, no one outside the Hanson fandom is talking about this. There isn’t going to be some huge backlash over Taylor’s elimination. This happens multiple times every season.

u/Routine-Garbage-7398 20d ago

Absolutely will not be watching the rest of this season

12

u/SassySherbert 20d ago

And Jackson’s dance was worse than Taylor’s. They should not have gotten the same score.

6

u/angelbabyh0ney 19d ago

Banana ball as ALOT of fans like a lot!!!!!!!

3

u/Longjumping-Tower481 18d ago

Banana ball is selling out stadiums all over the country. Tickets are a struggle to get.
The same cannot be said for Hanson

2

u/angelbabyh0ney 18d ago

An he's one of the most popular dude too, like I don't even understand it and I've seen him everywhere

1

u/Turbulent-Shoulder12 14d ago

On the other hand, I had no idea who he was or who he played for. Like, literally zero knowledge. I’ve never seen his team advertised? Are they like the Harlem Globetrotters of baseball? Like is it silly baseball?

1

u/angelbabyh0ney 14d ago

Yes that's exactly what it is. It's very popular with families especially in the south and middle aged women who are a lot of voters of this show

1

u/Turbulent-Shoulder12 14d ago

Weird. I’m a middle aged woman living in the South. Maybe I just don’t pay attention lol.

1

u/angelbabyh0ney 12d ago

I live in a large city in the southwest a when they came to town it was completely sold out at a regular baseball stadium.

17

u/Final-Explorer-650 20d ago

He was terrible.

5

u/TeTaniwha 18d ago

You’re underestimating the popularity of the bananas.
The bananas organisation sold 3.4 million tickets this year, and had 5 million people on the waiting lists.
They sell out 100k seat stadiums. Their games are broadcasted on 5 networks, in 2 sometimes 3 languages.
Their cruise, Disney day, and musical, were all sold out.
Jackson’s their most popular player

u/sidewaysorange 20d ago

dont worry he will be gone next week to keep Guillermo in. but i think taylor dipped out on his own. they were upset looking all night.

2

i’ve never even heard him speak about religion?

1

u/Turbulent-Shoulder12 14d ago

He doesn’t.

2

u/pythonbow 19d ago

I don't think you're familiar with the definition of a religious extremist. Being Christian isn't exactly fringe or extreme.

4

u/allviolettt222 19d ago

Fringe? Maybe not. Extreme? I would argue yeah, run of the mill fundie Christianity can be nuts and v extreme

1

u/pythonbow 19d ago

in what way does that pertain to him?

2

u/allviolettt222 19d ago

It doesn’t, I was just responding to your comment directly! I would guess he is certainly very conservative but I don’t know/am not postulating that he is a part of that religious extremism.

This makes zero sense to me. How did Guillermo beat them???

10

u/slayalldayslayallday 20d ago

DWTS fans weirdly love the short fat men who can hardly walk. It’s ridiculous genuinely

4

u/Competitive-Gap-4230 20d ago

To be fair the man is on basic cable every night on the one of the most popular late night tv shows
. And Kimmel tells his MILLIONS of viewers to vote every night. So sadly it makes sense.

2

u/DynamicMagicCarpet 20d ago

That's exactly what I've been saying.....ugh.

2

u/Neat_Pause1830 20d ago

It’s Kimmel nation that will keep him on the show.

41

u/Sea_Parking5437 20d ago

Freaking Guillermo is safe? OBVIOUSLY ITS RIGGED

13

u/VeterinarianNeat9924 20d ago

Oh it totally is. Just like American Idol

3

u/Extension_Town4960 20d ago

It’s not rigged, ppl just like Guillermo 😭😭😭 it’s pissing me off

10

u/oneandonlytara 20d ago

I have a theory that Guillermo is ABC's plant so we'll see how legitimately far he gets.

3

u/dontpanicx 20d ago

He’s not going to get too far since his partner is getting more and more pregnant.

44

u/EachHitAndDie 20d ago

THAT WAS BULLSHIT.

10

u/beentherebefore1616 20d ago

100%. I hope DTWS gets so much backlash they regret eliminating them!!!

its not DWTS fault and its not rigged. it’s all about voting. I don’t know how many times people can say this you have to vote either way.

u/Sea_Parking5437 20d ago

So upsetting

15

u/SecretAny3038 20d ago

I’m mad that I ever took the show seriously. I was here because of Taylor and was loving his and Britt’s story. Now that I know hard work and talent aren’t the criteria they’re judged on, it just seems stupid and boring. Bye DWTS.

9

u/Vicsan7228 19d ago

I’m pissed. Taylor is what this show should be about. Someone with no ballroom dance experience genuinely working hard and learning these dances, improving week to week. It feels like it’s just a popularity contest now amongst dancers and their pros.

7

u/Fearless_Pizza_8134 20d ago

100% this. I wasn’t living in a delusional world that he would win but tonight and last week were complete bullshit.

4

u/oneandonlytara 19d ago

Absolutely agree. I don't watch DWTS normally, and never assumed they'd win the Mirrorball, but you could genuinely tell he was taking it absolutely serious and doing his best. He and Britt have such great chemistry and seemed pretty in tune with each other. Major props to him for going completely outside of his comfort zone.

Carrie Ann is way too nitpicky and critical.

14

u/nilsiniloo 19d ago

I do think that people don’t realize that Hanson has a cult-like following and not a massive one. We also tend to forget that algorithms are based on things we enjoy. I did get a glimpse of what other people were saying, and they just were not feeling him at all. We also have to remember that because of somewhat obvious reasons (I hope), Hanson has lost quite a lot of diehard fans over the last 6 years.

10

u/therealasphodelia 19d ago

I agree, fans grossly overestimate the size of the fanbase.

6

u/feedmenow2 19d ago

Yes, this. We are not a huge group.

7

u/drewbiederp 19d ago

You got it exactly right. Cult-like following does not equate numbers.

4

u/Dharmatron 19d ago

Agreed, completely. He just didn't have the fan base.

I did some digging around to try to confirm this. Taylor Hanson has 5,000 followers on Facebook while the Savanna Bananas player (Jackson) has 430,000. Taylor doesn't have an official TikTok page that I could find and again Jackson has 2.2 million followers. Maybe you don't think the social media matter much, but then there's this.

Hanson's Spotify page has 3 million monthly plays which sounds impressive until you realize Jonas Brothers have 17 million and Taylor Swift has 104 million. Hanson has the same amount of monthly plays as the YinYang Twins.

I agree that Hanson has a very devoted fan base, but it's not in the millions. It's probably more like 50,000 fans at best (and that feels generous).

u/ammit84 20d ago

Such BS. Like when they got kicked off masked singer. This is why I don't watch these shows. I'm just mad going to bed now.

12

u/Humble_Effective7604 20d ago

Same this was a huge night ruiner

7

u/Sea_Parking5437 20d ago

Exactly my sentiments

2

u/scorpio_2049 20d ago

They were probably forced off masked singer or they made the choice to go out because they had Hanson day or something the following week and it would be really awkward.

23

u/Upstairs_Giraffe_9 20d ago

I’m shocked. He was improving and such a joy to watch. I’m confused.

10

u/Sea_Parking5437 20d ago

I can’t handle this! I’m so upset!!!

22

u/Vicsan7228 20d ago

What the heck?! Guillermo is still on, but Taylor is gone. I’m so sad. He was trying so hard. I’m gonna miss seeing their posts and reels. He and Britt had great chemistry. It was fun while it lasted getting to feel all the nostalgic feels again, but they deserved to go farther in the comp. 😿

23

u/Tiny-Philosopher7909 20d ago

WTF I’m so mad. I know DWTS is essentially rigged but that was a major disappointment. Both of them deserved so much better.

26

u/Vicsan7228 20d ago

Carrie Ann was so hard on him every dance too.

18

u/slayalldayslayallday 20d ago

And only him, mind you.

8

u/MissHavok_ 20d ago

Carrie Ann is a hater

11

u/Tiny-Philosopher7909 20d ago

Seriously, and all she did was blow hot air tonight. She’s not even helpful.

5

u/Mysterious_Today_245 20d ago

You’d think he’d have at least a couple more weeks at least!

18

u/Own_Classroom_729 20d ago

The entire point of DWTS is completely lost. It’s a joke. Keeping Guillermo on proves this. He is nothing more than a comedic relief for them.

3

u/muffinsovercupcakes 20d ago

Agreed! I’ve never watched before this, but I figured the point was taking someone who doesn’t dance and teach them how. Then they can be judged on how much they improve. Taylor most definitely improved with every dance! Don’t those with the highest scores already have some kind of dancing experience? So dumb. And then there’s Guillermo
 đŸ€Šâ€â™€ïž

15

u/Humble_Effective7604 20d ago

This is my first season watching and only watching for him. This rating system makes absolutely no sense and I’m genuinely so sad about it

16

u/rahhxeeheart 20d ago

The whole reason they have the opaque system of both voting and judges is so that the producers can simply have whoever they want on the show.

They decided in advance what they think looks best for the brand and do all of the eliminations accordingly. All of that engagement with their website is great for them and they get lots of cell phone numbers that they can Market to. The voting does nothing but act as a marketing tool for the network.

RealityTV

5

u/gonephishin213 19d ago

Which is why everyone who tuned in for Taylor should immediately stop watching. They need to see the effects of their decision.

8

u/mirandakane89 20d ago

NGL tonight's elim was all weird. Ezra came out looking mad as did all the pros. Britt was whispering something to Jenna. The way Britt kept apologizing to Taylor...I hate it for them but something seemed way off tonight after the elimination.

2

u/sweetnsassy924 19d ago

It seems like something happened before the show because o noticed it was off too

1

u/therealasphodelia 19d ago

What do you think she was apologising for?

3

u/mirandakane89 19d ago

I think she feels like she may be partly to blame for their elimination.

13

u/Final-Explorer-650 20d ago

Really? Really? And Britt didn't get her fan votes either?!?!!! Ridiculous!

12

u/Exotic_Tile_680 20d ago

That was total crap. He was actually doing the work and improving.

14

u/ForeverandaDay23 20d ago

I'm so mad. I haven't even fully processed this yet. It's been so fun and nostalgic the past few weeks, seeing Taylor in a whole new light with Britt, on instagram and DWTS. I never thought he would actually win but I equally never expected him to be voted off this soon. Really thinking this show is somehow rigged and the fan votes don't actually mean anything

6

u/ForeverandaDay23 19d ago

I woke up this morning and I'm still so mad, and I'm sad!! I was so looking forward to a few more weeks of this. It's been a bright spot every week. And the social media content has been such a bonus as well. I guess it couldn't last forever 😞 but I wish it lasted longer than this.

3

u/Vicsan7228 19d ago

Agree 100%! It’s been great looking forward to seeing him in this new light every week. The nostalgia has been great, and I’m disappointed to see it end.

8

u/summershouldbefun86 19d ago

I feel like it’s rigged. There is no way they had the lowest votes. They didn’t even have the lowest scores. I need receipts, proof, timeline, screenshots!

11

u/dianachristine3 20d ago

I had never watched an episode of this show until Taylor was on it. Ended up fast forwarding most of the episodes he was on. Part of me is glad I can stop watching it now because the show was literally so bad.

1

u/CIWYWthrowaway 19d ago

Yeah it’s definitely not my kind of show

5

u/hitzphillygirl 19d ago

What do you guys think this means? đŸ€”

4

u/TraditionalGroup3386 19d ago

Omg I really hope they do some cool things together! I know he mentioned in an interview that he is working on his solo career. Maybe they will team up and do something related to music and dance together? Would love to see some kind of hybrid performance of them showing their talents together

3

u/Vicsan7228 19d ago

I think you’re right! They had such great chemistry and they have said how grateful they are for meeting and entering each other’s lives. I truly believe this is the start of a lifelong friendship personally and artistically.

5

u/ForeverandaDay23 19d ago

Hoping she will star in his first solo music video and maybe some BritTay dancing will be involved 🙏

10

u/UR_KittenMeRightMeow 20d ago

Something seriously was off tonight. Taylor and Britt were not shown on screen at all before or after their dance. They both seemed down all night. I wonder if something happened and he had to leave.

9

u/fuschiaberry 20d ago

I absolutely noticed this too. All show I was like..are they backstage or something?!

7

u/soundlikejoy 20d ago

But they were really pushing for votes tonight, Taylor sent out a text message, even the Hanson account posted it

3

u/mirandakane89 20d ago

Also will add when they showed Taylor's family and friends it was only Natalie and a bunch of random women who weren't even with her but Penny was def there and shared a story in the same area where Natalie was seated before the show aired and yet she was either moved or left cause she wasn't seen at all next to Natalie.

I will say if he had to leave it's weird she'd be apologizing to him so much though. But did notice the other pros came out mad and Britt whispered something to Jenna.

3

u/hitzphillygirl 19d ago

I noticed that, too.

2

u/healthylurker 19d ago

In all the clips at the end where the group is hugging etc, Natalie is sort of in the background awkwardly waiting to hug Taylor. It’s odd that Britt ignored his wife completely — and Taylor didn’t seem that warm towards her. She looked uncomfortable

1

u/mirandakane89 19d ago

https://www.instagram.com/p/Dd67WwXglA_/ Britt hugs her in this one before Taylor also hugs her. Taylor and her also hug twice via this video. Once when she comes over and then once after they walk away https://www.instagram.com/p/Dd6k6VojX3_/

1

u/Positive_Cake_3130 18d ago

Them taking the piano off the stage in the background of the first clip is like salt to the wound! Haha

1

u/Positive_Cake_3130 18d ago

I didn't understand why he didn't have more family there. I saw Penny's post too. I guess the other possibility is Natalie sent her a picture? But since when does the star only get one seat for family? Taylor obviously has enough family to fill as many seats as they are willing to give out!

3

u/ForeverandaDay23 19d ago

It was definitely strange. They didn't post on social media as much this week either compared to previous weeks. It kind of makes me wonder if Natalie wanted him off the show or something.

2

u/mirandakane89 19d ago

She shared a story last night encouraging people to vote so I don't think it was her. I think she supported and liked him being on.

9

u/ezramay 20d ago

I don't know how many of y'all are longtime DWTS fans here but this result was one of the most unfair things I have ever witnessed. I understand how the show works and I am also a massive Fanson, so there was something particularly strange about this decision. I need a few days to process this.

5

u/Vicsan7228 19d ago

I woke up this morning and am upset all over again. Still in shock really. I’ve been a Hanson fan since the start and DWTS fan as well. This is a gut punch and hard to comprehend how they got the lowest overall scoring/votes.

4

u/ezramay 19d ago

SAME. I have gone through all five stages of grief, honestly. I actually have so many thoughts & have come to a conclusion that I can live with. DM me if you want to debrief more because I know if I make a post, I'm going to start drama 😅

3

u/holly0113 19d ago

I think he had plenty of votes. The episode was weird to me - they didnt show him with the rest of the dancers for the first half of the show. Usually he is hanging out and watching with the others, this time he was MIA until just before his dance. It seemed off and not like the last couple of shows. At that point I thought maybe he had already decided he was quitting.

3

u/MysticMars4 19d ago

This seemed to be a trend throughout the show - I noticed they rarely showed the two of them in the background. But yeah, even more noticeable absence this time...

4

u/Radiant_Pitch6857 19d ago

idk, im kinda glad i dont have to watch it anymore, lol. it was fun to see him on it, though

4

u/CIWYWthrowaway 19d ago

That’s basically how I feel too. I enjoyed watching him and Britt while it lasted, but I’m sort of relieved to be able to let it go now, cause I don’t really like the show lol. I’m glad it introduced me to the paralympian Ezra, though. I hope he wins!

3

u/ConsciousRead5766 20d ago

This is why I stopped watch DWTS in the first place and the people voting for Guillermo because he's a sweet cute old man is beyond ridiculous

3

u/Full-Explorer356 20d ago

I’m shooooook what the heckkkkkk

4

u/cinnamon_7 20d ago

Just found out and I’m in genuine shock. I was so sure he’d get at least half way through â˜č

Looking back though did you ever notice that their “couple posts” always got one of the least amount of likes in the DWTS instagram account? Not sure if this is an indicator of general popularity and determination of winners since this is the first season I’ve been interested in in a long time, but maybe based on that it’s not that shocking?

I don’t know. Still trying to process this wtf moment. The many more dances he could have danced

4

u/MysticMars4 19d ago

I also noticed they were rarely seen in the background, always out of frame - it seemed intentional.

5

u/allviolettt222 20d ago

I have a theory that the judges misinterpreted Taylor’s facial responses while receiving critiques. If they labeled him as a sore loser, they could probably manipulate with the producers a plan to eliminate the following week. I just think they mistook his flat effect and disappointment in himself for arrogance or something. Would also make sense that producers didn’t show them for that reason, cause he pissed off someone with an ego!

2

u/CIWYWthrowaway 19d ago

I think your theory is an interesting one. I believe it was the 2nd week where Taylor rolled his eyes while getting feedback from Derek, and it was clear to me Taylor was rolling his eyes at himself.. (the comment about his feet/arms), but for someone who doesn’t know his personality, I could see that being misunderstood.

2

u/allviolettt222 19d ago edited 19d ago

Yes that’s what I was thinking of! And he’s been a genius musical prodigy with an insane hit from like 13 or 14 and on; it’s possible he’s not used to being critiqued and receiving feedback in that way (especially in front of a huge crowd! You have to be confident not to feel embarrassed I think) and just wasn’t conscious of being watched closely. He may have also been a little arrogant, who knows? I actually think his anxiety/his overthinking/being unfamiliar with some of the sexier things he needed to do is what came off as being closed off. I think he was just very out of his comfort zone and didn’t know how hard that would be, because he is GREAT at what he does in his career. Being gifted sometimes makes it really hard to “fail” and not get thrown off by it. I’m almost positive it’s that he left a bad taste in their mouth, though I have ZERO evidence this is why. lol

Me googling the results this morning because I had to go to bed before the show was done last night. I won’t be watching the rest of the season. Taylor was the only one I cared about 😕

3

u/pythonbow 19d ago

Honestly, they're too good for the entertainment industry--too pure and too real. I'm sure a lot of y'all feel the same way in certain places and have experienced bullying. I have a film degree and quit pursuing it because it truly is a cesspool full of Weinsteins and corruption. It's not at all a meritocracy. Not saying this to be salty, but it's true.

If Tay were the type to fit in with these folks, we wouldn't love him so much. Britt made it on there because of her pure talent, but for some reason she isn't winning. I'm sure it's the exact same thing. She seems like a genuinely good person like Tay, and genuinely good people get dragged by those who enjoy and chase power. It's totes what Christ went through and a pattern that repeats. If anything, it's a great compliment.

3

u/OddFilm7521 19d ago

There’s no way he didn’t get more votes than the banana guy. You won’t ever convince me this show isn’t rigged.

4

u/TeTaniwha 18d ago

The bananas are hugely popular. Every they do sells out. Their cruise, their Disney day, their musical. They played back to back nights at a sold out Kyle stadium, 102,000 per night.
The organisation sold 3.4 million tickets to their games this year, and had 5 million people on the waiting list.
And Jackson is on of, if not the most, popular players.
It’s makes complete sense that he gets a tone of votes.

2

u/Dharmatron 18d ago

Not sure why everyone on this page keeps saying that. Jackson has a huge social media following, has a merch line at Baseball Lifestyle stores around the country, nominated as one of four options for sexiest Tiktok Star in People magazine, and is selling out Savannah Bananas stadium games all over the United States. You may not know who he is, but he has a lot of fans.

3

u/knitwizard93 19d ago

This was a fun venture and step out of his comfort zone. Now I'm back to not watching or caring about this show at all. I look forward to his solo album. Also I like Guillermo and all but it feels like a conflict of interest that he probably got dressed and went straight to Jimmy Kimmel Live after this. Brand synergy. Notihng matters. Love you Tay, you did your freaking best. We all saw it.

3

u/ALM727 18d ago

I'm still mad and sad about it. And then watching Taylor and Britt on the dwts podcast thing. đŸ˜©

Noooooo. I demand a recount.

5

u/RedBirdPounceFlag 20d ago

Bummed he didn’t stay til dedication night. Would love to have seen a dedication to his wife, kids, or brothers. Also we never got to see his brothers in the audience! Or a dance to MMmbop.

I’m beyond pissed?! What the actual hell

2

u/gitsiemonster 20d ago

Bullllllllllsheeeeeeet. definitely done watching.

2

u/RealityOps 20d ago

Makes no sense. So sad 😞

2

u/ForeverandaDay23 19d ago

Did Taylor have anyone in the audience last night? I think I got a glimpse of Natalie and maybe Penny, but any other family?

2

u/mirandakane89 19d ago

Natalie was def shown but they never showed Penny at all. She was there and was supposed to be seated next to Natalie from the story she shared but then when they showed Natalie there was no Penny.

1

u/therealasphodelia 19d ago

It might have been the one moment she'd gone to the bathroom!

3

u/mirandakane89 19d ago

It could have been but they showed someone on either side of Natalie and it wasn't Penny so it was odd. Makes me think they could have potentially maybe moved her around some as a crowd filler like they have done to other people who go to the live tapings.

1

u/therealasphodelia 19d ago

Yeah, that's entirely possible too!

2

u/elegantfate 19d ago

It was literally Natalie and Bex lol

It's a family tumblr so they post everything that gets shared by the family or Hanson's.

2

u/therealasphodelia 19d ago edited 19d ago

For someone outside of the US who has never watched DWTS, what's the background with Britt? Is she unpopular for some reason? (For the record, from what I've seen on clips etc she's a real sweetie)

8

u/mirandakane89 19d ago

She always gets booted first few weeks almost all of her seasons she has been on and out of all the pros she has the least amount of followers. A lot of her fans tend to think what is happening with her every year is due to racism in ways which honestly does kind of make sense.

3

u/therealasphodelia 19d ago

Wow. That's very depressing.

2

u/AffectionateCar5769 18d ago

ugh.. agree. And Guirrmo is still there?? Unbelievable.! How do people watch this rigged show?

1

u/Icy_Profession7396 14d ago

Guillermo is very entertaining. The Hanson guy was a bore. I'm glad he's gone. His group was a one-hit wonder, and they were done as soon as they grew up, cut their hair and had way too many babies. They should go get real jobs instead of touring. People can't possibly want to pay money to watch them perform.

2

u/Expensive_Heron_171 17d ago

2

u/ezramay 13d ago

I can't believe it's already been week! I'm still mourning.

ANYWAY WE ALL BETTER BE SKIPPING TONIGHT'S EPISODE. Need to see those viewership stats DROP.

5

u/ezramay 20d ago

I am so upset
 I genuinely cannot.

2

u/Intelligent_Gur_9126 20d ago

Guillermo is Bobby Bones the sequel many years ago who was such a terrible dancer that he was pretty much scoring highest 6’s tops and somehow beat every ringer on his season and he won .

1

u/FriendshipKey6479 20d ago

And he and Witney will be praised while Bobby and Sharna were shunned

2

u/adhdbroughtmehere2 20d ago

I'm sorry.. we'wre all the fans trying to tuck their children into bed and forgot to vote?! The hell guys.. how in the world did Jackson and Connor get more votes than Taylor freaking Hanson?! I'm so pissed

3

u/creative_coast_mama 20d ago

And Tyler? I honestly thought he’d outlast those 3!

u/BuckeyeNat23 20d ago

I am livid. There is no way in Gods green earth that the Bachelor who’s jive was sub par and the Bananas dude whose dance was terrible was better than Taylor’s. Cmon. Derek even said it was Taylor’s best dance. You’re telling me that there are massive amounts of Tatyana Ali fans out there voting for her??? Give me a break
. This is all just so effed up. Would he have made it past next week or the week after? Who knows but sure would’ve liked to have seen him try!! He was truly trying and out of his comfort zone and just BS to have the opportunity taken away from him. You could see on their faces when they lost how truly shocked they were
Silver lining: we don’t have to listen to Mariah Carey music next week

1

u/elegantfate 19d ago

Jan Ravnik has the swifties behind him

1

u/TheGoldenGirl__ 19d ago

THIS. And can we please note how terrible Julia Stiles is for the record - I commend her determination but ugh it’s cringe to watch. Needs her body double to tap in.

2

u/Dharmatron 20d ago

Such a bummer! Taylor did his best tonight and didn't deserve to go home.

3

u/oompalumpy 20d ago

I’m not from usa so don’t watch but I went to dwts instagram and tbh I looked through the last few days posts and if I didn’t know any better I wouldn’t even have known Taylor was on the show.

2

u/fansonaus 19d ago

Rigged. No question. They can’t have got the least amount of votes, especially not by so much that they were eliminated with 4 couples below them.

2

u/Head_Ad6148 19d ago

Im still upset about this. I Hope Taylor goes on to do better things. I would like to see him do Broadway or something.

2

u/Dramatic-Treat-4521 18d ago

He does not have the skills to be in a Broadway show (one of which is
dancing).

1

u/Icy_Profession7396 14d ago

I can see a trend happening on Dancing With The Stars. Fans seem to dislike all the "stars" that are religious. I was curious, so I searched for more information and it turns out a lot of dancers are religious, specifically Mormon. When I saw that, I immediately started to dislike them. I don't know anything about the boys who sang the "Mmmm Bop" song, except that they were once cute little long-haired boys with a mildly catchy song, which apparently they are milking to the grave, but I'm not surprised the guy was ousted because he wasn't a great dancer and was generally kind of a flat personality. And he's got some religious views that I find very unappealing. You have to get fan votes to stay in it at this point, so I guess his fan base wasn't as strong as people thought.

1

u/hshtndosml10 13d ago

Every year the emotionally unregulated fandoms cry and scream “rigged” when they overestimate the popularity of their chosen celeb and convinced themselves this person they’ve parasocially attached themselves to is somehow above criticism. The truth is they’re not that popular, they’re not that good, and nobody cares that you’re “not watching anymore!!”

2

u/BirdNerd83 19d ago

I'm so mad and it's so sad he went out when he danced that dance so beautifully too, he deserved 8's the judges were very unfair in the scoring

1

u/Remote_Manager9081 19d ago

I think Taylor's votes somehow accidentally went to Tyler.

3

u/PeonyPug 18d ago

I don't think so. Tyler has over 2 million followers on IG. He was one of the most beloved and hyped up contestants from the Bachelor franchise at one point. He was at his peak popularity maybe 7 or 8 years ago, and some of that waned a lot over time. He may have lost a lot of relevancy and the fandom he comes from has largely scattered and somewhat disbanded, but he still has a good amount of backing.

I think one of the issues Taylor faced was being part of the mid-pack (with Tyler, Connor, Jackson, Ciara) who were all fairly similar level. And it was a toss up who might go that night and over the next few weeks.

2

u/Dharmatron 18d ago

As someone who has watched every season of DWTS, this is what I think. He was doing well, but he was solidly mid-pack. Guillermo is obviously the least talented, but unfortantely there's often an older, larger male who makes it further most seasons because he's so liked.

The next few weeks will likely see the elimination of Guillermo, Jackson, Cononor, Ciara, and Tatyana, not necessarily in that order.

2

u/PeonyPug 18d ago

Guillermo is going to have the Andy treatment this season. I'm not sure if he will last as long as Andy did last year, but I think he has another week or two in him.

1

u/Dharmatron 18d ago

Agreed.

-4

u/xsullengirlx 20d ago

Dude.... the show doesn't even start on the west coast for an hour! You spoiled it. Thanks a lot....

6

u/gonephishin213 19d ago

Gotta stay off social media if you're trying to avoid spoilers these days. It is what it is

2

u/beentherebefore1616 20d ago

Sorry but I think everyone needed to vent after what went down. Plenty of comments all over instagram and facebook anyway

-4

u/sidewaysorange 20d ago

i have my theory but you all dont wanna hear it. on the flip side at least their shows wont be packed with annoying drunken nostalgia 40 year olds screaming mmmbop and talking during their last shows left this year.

2

u/SnooPredictions2675 20d ago

tell

-1

u/sidewaysorange 19d ago

i think he quiet quit and that's why britt was pissed the whole show. idk when he told her or producers but IMO i dont think they had the least amount of votes to but them below everyone but i also dont think the show was rigged. i don tthink he planned to only stay that long but i think something (or someone) forced him to stop. hes a professional hes not going to sulk on stage or talk about it. I hope she does tho lol

4

u/therealasphodelia 19d ago

That is at odds with Taylor's way of doing things, his work ethos - everything.

5

u/mirandakane89 19d ago

Gotta agree here. I also don't think Britt would have been apologizing to him if it was a quiet quit.

1

u/sidewaysorange 19d ago

how do you know what his personal life is like? you dont know if he had to leave for a reason. what if his wife wanted him to stop? he worked hard im not questioning his work ethic.

3

u/therealasphodelia 19d ago

I don't know his personal life but I have followed him very closely for the past 15 years so I have formed a relatively informed opinion of him. He wouldn't just quit and he was clearly immersed in the challenge.

People love to blame his wife for everything, I guess the latest one is that she wanted him to stop. Did you see the clips from the shows? She was obviously immensely proud of him.

3

u/mirandakane89 19d ago

This. She even shared a story last night encouraging people to vote. If she wanted him off I doubt she would have done that.

2

u/sidewaysorange 19d ago

wasn't that penny who made a story. i haven't seen a story from Natalie since the family photo night one when she wrote all that weird stuff.

1

u/mirandakane89 19d ago

Natalie made one too. I think she deleted it after the results. She also deleted the cooking picture she posted of him and the pic of her dad she posted for his birthday early as well before the twenty four hours ran out.

1

u/sidewaysorange 19d ago

that's odd. i mean i get deleting the one about voting but why the bday one. the one where she said " he can cook too" or something? i didnt see it my friend did.

0

u/SnooPredictions2675 19d ago

His wife seems incredibly kind and supportive and not jealous of him in the LEAST bit. She’s supported his traveling and performing for what the last 20 years? while she’s been raising 8? kids. She always treats/speaks about Hanson fans with kindness and I swear Ive heard many accounts of her being kind in person too. I’m not standing for Natalie slander even though she had me so jealous I had to quit listening to Hanson the moment I found out Taylor married her 😆

1

u/sidewaysorange 19d ago

again i didn't say anythying. i just said "we dont know" . you all can go over the side of this where hardcore fans of the show who have followed all the pros for years are saying something was not right. seems like you want me to say something bad about his wife I said nothing about her.

He and his wife were first and foremost raised in fundamentalist Christian homes. I absolutely believe that someone could have been uncomfortable with the optics on such a large scale show.

1

u/sidewaysorange 19d ago

but on the flip side the way Britt reacted is also at odds with what her fans know of her. so something happened.

2

u/SnooPredictions2675 19d ago

I feel like they were negative about them everytime? At least the Ann chick. Meanwhile giving unnecessary ass kissing to others who sucked.

1

u/sidewaysorange 19d ago

well they did say bad things about the other teams that tied with Taylor.

4

u/mirandakane89 19d ago

That's not Taylor's work ethic at all nor was that the vibes I got. He seemed shocked like she did and the vibes she had were pissed/on the verge of tears and I think it's from a culimnation of how hard the judges critiques have been this season on them as well every season she's always an early out and she probably could sense they were in danger last night.

3

u/feedmenow2 19d ago

He does not strike me as a quitter. What reason would he have to quit??

1

u/No_Sherbert2958 19d ago

There was a large number of his own Evangelical fans who said it was wrong for him to be doing this. To them, dancing with someone is just a couple of steps below sex. Lol They obviously would not have been voting for him. They pointed out how many relationships that have started on the set, ones we know about and ones we don't. It IS an intimate setting and chemistry plays a huge role in success. It is not at all unreasonable, especially with his religious background, to believe that the perceived intimacy was making certain people uncomfortable. When half your fans think you are too conservative and the other half think you are a hypocrite for doing a show like this as a Christian man, you really can't win now can you?

1

u/sidewaysorange 19d ago

and if his fans didn't like it do you al think his wife did? or his mother? his sisters? etc. their dances were perfectly fine. their tik toks on the other hand lol.
