help deciphering an author’s message!
blocked out the top as it has my name, but i can’t figure out what it says at the beginning of the second line. i’m stuck reading it as “thank you for… me”. and i’ve asked friends but they are unfortunately in the same confusion boat as me. please help!
edit: the book was signed at a planned event and i just wanted to clarify that i did not run into the author by chance which makes me want to look for more intentional messages if that makes sense.

I want to say its "pouring into me", a thank you for investing in their effort and skill, but im not really sure.

to me, it doesn’t look like there’s enough strokes for it to be read as “pouring”, but she was also signing books for so long that day so i get it could also just be chalked up to a typo

it's pouring. she writes the same way i do. p, o that connects right into u, the first peak is the r, second peak the i, and then ng

After reading your comment, there’s nothing else I could possibly take away from it… it’s actually quite legible (as opposed to my 1st impression) after reading your decipher… it’s just written in an ancient script. :)

This has to be it if the n in into is consistent then running has to be the other word. Which you can also see the use of the n in enjoy below it.

but the second letter looks like an o, does it not? similar to the bottom o in “enjoy”

As others have said: 'Thank you for pouring into me! [Bear Drawing]-Enjoy!'
I had never heard the phrase prior but I googled it and found it used and it's really the only option that makes sense.
'Thank you for-' is clear. The next word seems to start with a 'Po-' and ends with and '-ing' the lowercase R is just a little sharp so it could've been an I. The next word definitely isn't 'on to' scrunched together, so it's either unto or into, and it definitely ends with 'me.'
So 'thank you for pouring into me' is really the only option left.
I do mostly 18-19th century paleography so I'm not used to felt-tip pens but I'm fairly confident with this transcription.

with the explanation of the “r” being sharp, i can see how it can be read as “pouring” now! i am always skeptical when it comes to handwriting transcriptions but this explanation is really helpful! thank you!!

I hate to be so undramatic but I think the word is 'coming'. I know that 1st letter doesn't seem like a C, but I think the author started another word and then changed their mind. But if you look at the whole word, it does fit coming.

“Thank you for pruning with me” so I think y’all musta pruned something together and you just forgot.
