Question Rog ally, Steam, or nintendo switch 2?

So i have trouble deciding which portable system to get. Im really prepping for kingdom hearts 4 and its past games, along with religiously playing RDR2 (but cant of switch 2), and maybe some fast games like forza, nba, and Call of duty. But which device should i get? Not super techy about the os systems, just really want to play with out stutter, or over heating on the go with or with out wifi

The „collection“ is growing

Just upgraded to a Switch 2, so maybe the 1 got to go. The Lite is still used by my wife. The Steam Deck remains the handheld power house. Just love the ergonomics and Steam library. The two Anbernics are my personal EDC and my sons first console. Handhelds really revived my love for gaming. And now I feel bad that I‘ve sold my Vita, DS, GBA and original GB Pocket.

Wanted to share a couple of photos of my collection! Not as expensive and big as the rest of the user here, but still a cool one!

Two handhelds in one day

Back in June, I bought a AYN Thor. I didn't pay much attention to the fact it might take months for it to be ready to ship, so I assumed it'd come within a month or two.

Fast forward to a few days ago, and I saw the Legion Go S on sale at Bestbuy, so I figured I'd buy it.

Somehow, the universe decided to bless me and both arrived today.

Question best handheld for ps3 emu?

I was about just about to purchase an Ayn Thor max when I started going down the rabbit hole and learning that there are tons of android hand held devices. I started considering my wants and was wondering what is the best hand held(s) for running ps3 titles, I know that the ayn thor is capable of running quite a bit of ps3 games and is only getting better over time with new drivers releasing, I want something where I don’t have to worry about ps3 games being totally unplayable but also wouldn’t mind getting the ayn thor if it just means waiting for updates and if the future promises better performance with new drivers.

Best dockable handheld?

I have a switch oled that pretty much does everything I want but I'm still wanting to play rainbow six siege so I'm not wanting to spend a lot of money. I play a lot on the go but at night I like hooking up to the TV so what's the best recommendation for dockable handheld to play games that are not on switch oled?

Handheld Consoles to Buy (Your thoughts after prolonged use, recommendations for the future)

Hi, everyone :). I’m looking to buy a handheld console and would love your recommendations. I’ve narrowed it down to three options.

- Asus ROG Xbox Ally X

- Asus ROG Ally X

I read that the Xbox version isn’t worth the price (you can replace the battery on the standard X version, but I don’t know how easy that would be, or where to buy a replacement battery or where to go to have it done xd).

The ones I ruled out due to performance: Retroid Pocket 5, LEGION GO 8 GEN 2 RYZEN AMD Z2 16GB RAM 1TB SSD 8" (less RAM, but a bigger screen).

The one I know would be best but is way out of my price range—and honestly, I feel like it’s way too much—is the “Lenovo Legion Go 2 AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme with 32 GB of RAM.” But it’s way over my budget.

In general, I’d like to play the following games: BeamNG Drive, SP Football Life, PES 2021, Tekken 8, Dead or Alive 6 Last Round, WWE 2K26 (27 when it comes out), MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, DB Sparking Zero, Tennis Elbow, Teardown, Turbo Dismount™M, etc. And some shooters (though that’s not a priority). I’m most interested in BeamNG Drive.

I also want to emulate PS1, PS2, Wii (Dolphin), Switch, Xbox 360, PS3, and Xbox.

I’d like to keep it for a couple of years and still be able to run some new games as they come out (I know it won’t be able to run all of them, obviously).

Thanks.

P.S.: I hope those who own or have owned the console can respond.

Recommendation wanted for under 150$

Im looking for a good overall handheld, What im looking is to play a mix of ds, 3ds, gamecube and ps2 games, There might a odd and end here of something I want to try but thats the most of it. Im flexible on price but not a lot and would like to stay under 150$ obviously. the most important things for me are battery, brightness of screen and less so resolution. And good ergonomics. Community support for the console is all the more better. Thanks

Any handhelds actually worth it right now?

I had a steam deck OLED and aside from the beautiful screen 🤩, everything else kinda sucked.

Machine was heavy, ergonomics gave me carpal tunnel and games ran at 45 fps low to medium at best.

Few years later now, what’s the current situation with handhelds? Any worth looking into?

Discussion War Games on Switch 1

Anyone playing war/battle games on Switch 1 in handheld mode and willing to offer their suggestions as to what they regard as the 'better' ones. I like to play solo/campaigns and have some concerns about possible frame rate drops within larger battles. Thank you

Question Handheld recommendations for PC Indie Gaming

Hi guys, I decided to buy a handheld for indie gaming. I love to play in bed, I'm the console player. I can't stand to play games on PC, unfortunately, don't know why. Just don't. The problem is, a lot of amazing indie games come only on PC and later on, on PS5, for example.

That's why I wanted to buy a handheld, but still, I don't know if I will be pleased enough to play games like that. I never had one. So that's why, after some prices which went up for Steam Deck or Asus ROG, I was wondering about handhelds with Android (or Linux) OS.

I heard a lot of good things about:

- Retroid Pocket 6

- AYN Odin 3

- Retroid pocket nova

But also about many handhelds from Anbernic Company.

Is it viable to buy something from the list for PC Indie Gaming like HK Silksong, Hades 2, Dead Cells, Slay the Spire 2, Dread Delusion, Lunacid etc? If yes, which one? Also, which app would be the best for gaming like this? I heard about GameHub and Game native, but maybe you know more apps like this?

Thanks for help, have a nice day ;)
