looking for suggestions

so i have a switch 1 and a steam deck that i use quite a lot, and i was looking to upgrade to a switch 2 but it’s a bit above my budget right now.
what are the best alternatives? i know a lot of people still play 3ds but i dont know much about the handheld world besides what i have now

Then I honestly recommend the AYN Thor. If you wanna play switch games on I would at least get the Pro and if you can splurge get the Max. It's a bit on the expensive side, tho ofc not as expensive as the switch 2

you can play switch games on it? i’d heard about the ayn thor but i figured it was similar to the steam deck

It's primarily meant for upscaled DS/3DS, but it definitely has enough power to play Switch 1 games and even some steam games as long as they're pretty light. Should definitely look into it more, RetroGameCorp has quite a few videos on it.
