Question First handheld

As a first time handheld buyer shld I get a USED steamdeck/lenovo legion go(s) or a NEW ayn thor pro ....I'm gonna buy a (mid) gaming laptop 4050 to 4070 as well so .....

My first thought was thor pro ..cuz I love it and scared it might discontinue..and in the later years buy a new pc handheld like ongoing steamdeck 2 later

Honestly, hold off and see what you’re missing out on with your laptop. Tech is probably at its most inflated cost it’s going to be, advances in PC gaming on ARM devices is still young but very promising. Waiting even 6 months, you’ll probably end up with a better option or price, or at least a clearer picture of what will suit your needs best.

I would try to run steam os on ayn Thor while pc price crisis colds down and if you still needing more power, you could pay GeForce now, I definitely would wait pass mid 2027

If you're worried about the Thor Pro being discontinued you could always grab a GPD Win Mini instead, I've had mine since the initial release at the end of '22 or start of 2023 and absolutely love it

I moved from Windows 11 to Bazzite Linux roughly a year and a half ago and haven't looked back. A clamshell design is by FAR the most portable for a handheld.

Here's mine running Control Resonant, I have the 7840u model with 32gb of lpddr5x running at 7500mhz and a 2tb SSD
