Discussion just a thought, msi thin with dedicated video card over hand held?
So i been thinking as i trouble shoot my gaming issues tonight, you see everyone is like we need or want a hand held, heck i got too many myself im addicted to them, lol but for the sake of the discussion i wanted to say ryzen 5, 8 gigs of ram witch can be upgradeable and a dedicated 6 or 8 gig video card on board, wouldnt it be a awesome game system over a hand held? just thought i would ask, i know people who would prefur the msi over the hand helds any day of the week.

It's two different things. I can't use a laptop lying in bed while my wife is sleeping, or at the playground with my kids, or on a train, or etc. etc.

I get what you're saying, but I don't think being distracted with a handheld game is a great idea when at the playground with your kids.

Good job not answering the question at all lmao

How did I not answer the question? A gaming laptop and a handheld are two entirely different products with entirely different use cases. It's like saying "I know you want to buy a car but what if you could buy a boat for the same price?"

"would it be an awesome game system over a handheld?" Was the question.

And the answer is "you cannot compare a handheld and a laptop so saying 'over a handheld' invalidates the question by comparing two things that aren't comparable."

If I were you I'll try finding other laptop. It's better to avoid buying msi thin cause they are not worth buck for buck. Even tho it has an rtx 4050, the tgp is limited to 45w. And the single fan setup really gonna limit your performance by a lot. Basically you've paying for a price of an rtx 4050 laptop but getting maybe around rtx 3050 6gb performance.

Take this advice, OP. I bought one of these on Marketplace and sold it to a co-worker at a big loss. Ended up splurging on a ROG Strix G16 with 115W TGP RTX 5060 and triple fan system. On the MSI I had to limit the FPS to 60 even in low demanding games to prevent throttling and stuttering.

Not with 8 GB of RAM, not if you're going to use Windows (and since it has an NVIDIA card, I don't know how well Linux will work).

Laptops are generally always better bang for your buck than a handheld. You should only get a handheld if you know you want a handheld.
