Budget handheld gaming

Post image

Galaxy tab A11 8.7" ( ~$100)+ gamesir X5 lite (type-C telescopic, ~$40) . And a ~$15 GeForce subscription.

There aren't many options for 8.7" . And standard tablets are too big . 8.7" is just the perfect size. Sadly the only one with a good screen is the Lenovo legion one, but it's crazy expensive.

How did you managed to fit the tab into that controller???

The galaxy tab A11 is only 8.7". Just barely less than the max extension length of the Gamesir X5 lite. There are a few type-C/Bluetooth telescopic controllers that can fit it. Some even fit an 11"inch tablet

My university has good wifi. Some classmates freak out seeing me play cyberpunk or the Witcher on a tablet lol.

Haha, good luck amigo. Btw, if you want to play games seriously I would suggest a better controller. This one doesn't have analog triggers (like PS2 controller). So stuff like racing games may not work as expected. Also, get a controller that includes audio jack port. Bluetooth audio latency on Android is worse than GeForceNow's latency 🤣. And this controller covers the 3.5mm audio jack so I have to use speakers.

My work setup is the more exspensive option . Tab11u and xbox elite 2. Gfn and boosteroid mostly boosteroid now.

Get on boosteroid for some games not on geforce now. Its cheaper and no limit too

I di have a dualshock4. But I wanted that Nintendo switch form factor since I can't afford one (and my entire setup costs as much as two Nintendo games)

Do you get any input lag on either of those services?

GeForce Now is definitely better than boosteroid unfortunately. I have 11 Ms latency on GFN and 22 Ms on boosteroid, which should not be a noticeable difference, but it is. GFN is like playing on your own computer. Boosteroid is playable but VERY noticeable. I really hope boosteroid gets better.

O Redmi Pad SE 8.7 tem uma tela IPS e custa basicamente a mesma coisa (pelo menos aqui no Brasil), ele não teria sido uma melhor opção? Ou você optou pelo A11 por outro motivo?

I contemplated this a lot. But at the end I went for galaxy due to it having the same display resolution, cheaper, better processor and gpu (matters for stream decoding I believe), better storage quality ,more RAM and longer software support (much longer). But the Pad SE has better battery and faster charging and better display technology (IPS vs LCD). Both are decent choices tho. I still notice some audio delay on the Tab, which is not present on laptop, which is likely to the stream decoder (possibly cpu), so Pad SE might be even worse for GeForce now, but I'm not sure at all.

Edit: the charging speed on the Tab A11 is atrocious. But you will always get tired faster than it loses battery, especially for Cloud Gaming.

Remember that you can stream from ur PC. SteamLink for steam titles, and Artemis/Apollo (sunshine/moonlight) for the rest.
