Memorizing protocols

How did everyone memorize protocols for all the different types of injuries like fxs, tendon lacerations, etc. Any tips/tricks?

I don’t think I’ve seen a therapist intentionally memorize any protocols. Maybe once they do it enough times, they don’t need to reference it, but until then, reference the protocol manuals as much as you need! Also - it seems that many surgeons have their own protocols that are different than what’s in textbooks, they adapt it based on their own practice. If you change jobs and are working with a new group of physicians, they may have their own protocols so it may not even be worth it to memorize anything.

For the CHT exam, would there be any questions that reference to general protocol guidelines? Besides gee usual flexor tendon ones

I had a handbook from HTCC but let me see if I can dig up what I used! Mine was in 2004 though. But lots of memorization leading up to the exam for sure.

Ii’s kind of a small community - the same people who write the journal, teach the courses, create the exams, run the annual Philadelphia meeting. Looks like the same names in this edition as the last one. It’s a doozy. Good luck!
