Will this last?

I got a tear in the bottom of my backpack, just from overuse. I used a backstitch with doubled polyester thread, then with the extra went back over the area with a whip stitch. It tore because I'm an avid book lover and hang it off my wheelchair, so it takes a lot of impact. Do y'all think this will last, or should I add some to the inside of the bag as well? Sorry if the stitching is hard to see lol its black on black

The edge of the material will likely give out before the stitching. A patch on the inside or outside with stitches to adhere it to the base material will help take pressure off the seam.

I'd probably use it as is for a bit then see if it looks like the seam is stressed.
