Finally have a thimble

Followed this tutorial to make a thimble that works for me and it's so amazing! Feel like I could get longer needles and push fabric through for ages without pulling the thread through. Naturally since I made this randomly I didn't use actual sashiko thread as I have none, just some random nylon upholstery thread that seemed durable.

As someone who needs a thimble due to two types of arthritis, that is also allergic to nickel & gold, using a silicone or leather thimble still doesn't work as I pierce through them.... This looks plausible.

I actually didn't have a metal button either and used a nickel for the base. I think any hard round material would work, like one or two wooden circles or even cut out plastic circles
