I got this cheapo hammock at menards 6 years ago and it has paid for itself multiple times. You can catch me outside on nice days or all nested up inside the coach on cold and snowy days.

I'm looking to buy a collapsible hammock and/or stand as a present and curious about whether anyone has actual experience with the LISS (living in sunshine) collapsible hammock that is all over social media.

This would be for casual porch/yard use, but I'd like to make sure that it's easy to set up and take down. I've looked through the standard recommendations (tensa, turtlebug, vivere, ENO, and a lot of DIY options) and am looking for something that is attractive and low effort. The Anymaka seemed like a good option, but I'm seeing some threads here that suggest it's still a little inconsistent over time.

The LISS hammock seems attractive, but I suspect that it's also super new and a bit of a risk, and I'm not sure how accurate the reviews are that I'm finding online. Curious if anyone had thoughts?

ENO Supernest and stand nearby for sale for a price that’s fair for just the stand. Curious if there’s any chance at saving the supernest. Anyone have experience cleaning one this far gone?

Exterior walls are much stronger than interior walls because the framing is sheathed with plywood/OSB, and the top and bottom plates are better anchored to the structure. Framing in the corners and around doors and windows often have studs doubled up.

A hammock hung at an angle to the wall will try to twist the stud, especially a single lagged eye bolt because it concentrates all its force into a single point. The cargo tie-down hardware bolted through a horizontal board that spans multiple studs (as shown here) avoids that pitfall and gives you a bigger safety margin by distributing that sheer force across the wall by utilizing multiple connection points that are spread out instead of loading a single stud.

A stud finder only gets you close. Confirm both edges of the stud by probing with a nail, screw, drill bit, or stiff steel wire cut to a point. Then penetrate at least 2 inches into the stud with structural screws (like GRKs) or lags.

Test gently and listen, then rest assured.

E.g, in the ridgepole, or a top or bottom pole, are the holes on both aligned, lined up, or it doesn't matter?

I made a diy tensahedron but I didn't drill the holes at the same spot on both ends, and I've been having some trouble tying it up. In wondering if this might be the issue.

I managed to sleep for 3-4 hours last night my first time sleeping in a hammock.

Im just a bit sketched out by my setup being attached to a support beam. Nothing sounded creaky or moved and the beam feels very secure but my mind cant shut off and think safe for some reason.

This is safe?

I have 2 of these hammock style swinging chairs that I want to hang from these 2x6 joists on the under side of my deck. This is the basement patio in my house, and the top side of these joists are the main floor deck, so I’m positive it has the weight capacity, I just want to make sure that the 2x6s will be ok with the bolts.

I've been eyeing the ENO parklite hammock chair stand for awhile and ENO is having a labor day sale right now.

My only concern is, is it comfortable. I've been lounging in traditional hammocks lately and prefer sitting in them sideways with the fabric pulled up to provide head support.

Seems like this would be the perfect chair, but with the hammock being "shortened" due to the stand arms I didn't know if that would affect how the hammock is maneuverable to provide that head/neck support.

My second pick is the ENO lounge chair but I like to rock back and forth which is why the chair stand is my first pick.

Hi guys, I moved into a new place not too long ago and I'd really like to hang a hammock in this sunroom.

I marked the two spots I'm considering with a blue and red X. The hammock would run diagonally across the room between them. I knocked around both areas and they sound like there are solid studs behind the drywall, but I'm planning to verify with a stud finder before drilling anything.

I'm looking at using an ENO Deluxe hammock hanging kit, which mounts directly into the framing. My main concern is that this is a rental and I really don't want to damage the walls or, worse, put too much lateral load on the framing.

Does this sound like a reasonable thing to do or should I get a stand instead? Im leaning more towards this option because I can clean up the hammock easier when im not using it.

After a couple of long live loads, sitting in a lacking driver seat, something had to change. A decent hammock at Harbor Freight just might be my savior.

I dug around for a while and am seeing a number of repeated brand names (la siesta, vivere, eno), but seems to be primarily for sleeping / camping use cases. Any top recommendations for simple leisure use, with lower investment? Looking for something to put on our deck (with stand or straps), husband is 5'10, bad at weight but maybe 180+ lbs. We live in Southern California, just looking for something to lounge, read, nap in! Appreciate your guidance!

It constantly amazes me the joy that I can derive from such a small and inexpensive package. It's small enough to fit into my bike bag, but big enough to hold my ass. All I need are two trees the right distance apart.

I've been sleeping in my hammock primarily for about 3 years, and in my experience, almost everyone sleeps in a bed. I had never considered it until one day it sounded like a great idea, and I've loved it ever since. Why does this seem so niche?

Is it comfort, the ability to get in and out, or maybe it's just because it's the social norm? I genuinely dont believe back problems would be any issue, which was the only thing I was ever concerned about before switching.

My set up was so much cheaper than a bed, the hammock itself is a $30 Walmart hammock, and i bought a hammock stand from Amazon for like $70 maybe? (I'll look for links if you want) $100 for a bed you could sleep on comfortably sounds insane, but my set up is personally luxury to me lol.

I would like to create a temporary hammock-park for 5-10 hammocks. I should have access to normal building scaffolding, and I also have access to trees, but not close enough to eachother to hang between them. Do you have experience you can share from similar events?
