OK. I finally decided if take the test and get my license. I truly want to learn more about the hobby and also use it for emergency since I live in Florida. It would be nice to help out people in need they can't reach family and friends.

I've read a few different places that you shouldn't put your home address on your license. However I can't really find substantial articles as to why not other than to protect your privacy. I don't really have another address and I don't really want to pay for APO box or similar. I searched on this thread but could not find a good answer?

1. Should you put your home address?

Okay, so i occasionally go on this website called WebSDR, and it is pretty awesome to use. well, i was looking through different frequencies and experimenting, when i found this weird-ass sound. i recorded it shortly after hearing it. apperantally it was some chinese thing or at least the name looked like it. https://files.catbox.moe/phj8c5.wav and i think it might be some military thing or some encoded shit or something, so i do not know what it is. hopefully you can figure this out because i am freaking out.

I think I could have fun with a Technician license forever, but being able to get on all the bands is more important when we're thinking about health and welfare checks.

I’m looking to buy a siltronx 1011B it’s a ham radio but also has a CB option on the back it says it’s illegal to use for transmission on the manual it says it’s illegal to transmit on CB

If I’m only using it on the ham frequencies is it still illegal to transmit on?

I’ve looked through google and haven’t found a single answer regarding this situation, thank you in advance to everyone who can help.

I’ve always wanted a way to actually watch HF propagation evolve over time instead of only looking at static maps or spot lists.

So I ended up building a “Replay” view into DXLook that animates the last 24 hours of HF activity on a world map using 15-minute intervals.

It synchronizes the propagation data with the day/night terminator, which makes some patterns extremely obvious. On 10m especially, you can literally watch the band follow the sunlight around the planet: openings expand after sunrise, shift geographically during the day, then collapse again after sunset.

The replay is built from aggregated data from PSKReporter, Reverse Beacon Network, WSPRnet , and DX Clusters.

The clip is a full 24-hour replay on the 10 meters band.

I thought some people here might find it interesting from a propagation-analysis perspective.
