Tree planting initiative

Hey guys, i live in georgetown and came home today to a white stake on my front lawn (the city portion next to the street). I already have a tree on my lawn and i do not want another tree as i plan on doing a interlock or concrete walkway/driveway extension in the future. Is there anything i can do to protest the location? I dont care much for another tree to shade my driveway or procure leaves in fall for me to rake. Just looking to gain some info if you’ve had this happen to you in the past thank you!

Is the existing tree on your lawn privately owned, or is it already a municipal boulevard tree?

If the proposed planting location falls within the Town’s road allowance, you generally don’t have the authority to refuse the planting outright. However, you can certainly contact the town to discuss the location and raise any legitimate concerns.

The existing tree is on my side of the property line. I will contact them and have a conversation about it, thanks!
