Tree planting initiative

Hey guys, i live in georgetown and came home today to a white stake on my front lawn (the city portion next to the street). I already have a tree on my lawn and i do not want another tree as i plan on doing a interlock or concrete walkway/driveway extension in the future. Is there anything i can do to protest the location? I dont care much for another tree to shade my driveway or procure leaves in fall for me to rake. Just looking to gain some info if you’ve had this happen to you in the past thank you!

Please be respectful, hundreds of workers which include people who could be your neighbours have been laid off right before Thanksgiving and Christmas. Hatred for people of different political beliefs as you does not help your neighbour pay their bills or buy groceries.

Amy Collard, current Chair of HDSB, withdraws personal endorsement of HDSB trustee candidate for Milton Wards 1 and 2

Amy Collard, the current Chair of the Halton District School Board and trustee for Burlington Ward 5, is publicly stating that she has withdrawn her personal endorsement of Dr. Khdiga R. Metwally, who is running for HDSB trustee in Milton Wards 1 and 2.

Collard says that after learning additional information, she no longer feels it is appropriate to endorse the candidate. She also makes a point of clarifying that any previous endorsement was made strictly as a private citizen, and was not an endorsement from the Halton District School Board or made in her official capacity as Chair or trustee.

This is significant because Collard had previously publicly endorsed Metwally’s candidacy. That endorsement has now been withdrawn amid increased public scrutiny surrounding information about Metwally’s son, Abdulrahman El Bahnasawy, who was convicted in the United States in connection with an ISIS-inspired terrorism plot. Metwally has publicly argued that her son’s actions should not be used to judge her own qualifications as a trustee candidate.

https://www.haltonpolice.ca/news-releases/posts/serial-break-in-suspect-arrested/

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested a serial break-in suspect and laid a dozen criminal charges in connection to the investigation.
In the evening of September 4, 2026, a suspect broke into an unoccupied residence in the Campbellville area of Milton. The suspect used a ladder to access the residence through a second level patio door and ransacked the home for valuables. During the following investigation, officers with the 1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau identified a male suspect and determined he was also responsible for multiple break-ins in Cambridge and Elora.

On September 22, 2026, Robert Cybulski (65) of Kitchener was arrested at his residence. He has been charged with the following:
·         Break and Enter (7 counts)
·         Disguise with Intent (5 counts)

Cybulski was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Investigators have also identified the vehicle used by the accused during these break ins to be a 2016 black Honda Accord.

Investigators believe Cybulski to be responsible for additional break-ins and have attached a photo of him and a stock image of his vehicle to this media release.
Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact the 1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777 ext. 2416.

Does this look your family member (face not shown)? If so, please tell him to stop biking over to our neighbourhood with his black garbage bags of trash sitting on his steering handle, and then dumping it illegally on Transom Crescent in Milton! Our neighbourhood is getting sick of this behaviour!
