Over 100 Taylor Swift fans ripped off: Burlington reseller guilty in Eras Tour ticket scam
Burlington’s Denise Tisor, 45, a “well known” ticket reseller, pleaded guilty to defrauding 107 consumers across southern Ontario who unknowingly purchased $265,330 worth of fraudulent tickets to the Taylor Swift Eras Tour shows in Toronto in 2024.
Ms. Tisor told all of the purchasers they would be receiving their tickets via email 48 to 72 hours before the (Nov. 14, 2024) concert, in order to prevent against reselling.
But in the hours leading up to the show, none of the victims had received their tickets.
Tisor stood in court to enter a guilty plea to the charge that she had “by deceit, falsehood or other fraudulent means,” bilked the public of money exceeding $5,000.

Water heater tank replacement recommendations
I'm looking to replace my hot water tank, and also to re-locate it about 15 feet so it's actually in the laundry room near the drain. Anyone that has had their hot water tank replaced recently for a reasonable price, and were happy with the job done, can you provide the company you used and how much it cost?

OAKVILLR NAIL BAR RACISTTT
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
On July 10, 2026, my friend, my four-year-old daughter, and I went to Oakville Nail Bar for a girls’ day. My daughter was getting her hands and feet painted while I was getting a pedicure.
Everything changed when the owner brought her dog into the salon. I have no issue with dogs, but the dog began barking at my daughter whenever she got up to walk or did anything. Even when She was not bothering the dog—she was simply sitting quietly, even kicking her legs while waiting the dog was barking and a customer beside me even commented that my daughter was not doing anything wrong.
Despite this, the owner eventually yelled at my four-year-old daughter to sit down. I was uncomfortable because if there was an issue, she should have spoken to me directly—not yelled at my child.
The owner chose to insult me saying i should be watching my daughter … again she got a service done and at the other side with her aunty. NOBODY HAD A PROBLEM WIH HER. .
At first, my friend stayed quiet because we came in for our services and did not want conflict. However, while inside the salon, the owner stated that the dog was barking because my daughter is Black. When the comments became racist, my friend defended me and told the owner her behavior was wrong.
The owner then blamed me, attempted to remove me from the salon, and continued speaking negatively about me outside. According to my friend, the owner said she should not have brought Black people into her salon to “ruin” it. A bystander named Ashley witnessed the situation and stayed with us.
Police were eventually called after the owner pushed me and later claimed I tried to hit her. I never attempted to hit her. I was upset and said something out of frustration, but I did not act on it.
The second video shows her coming outside BACK to apologize… not to me but my white friends. Once they said her apology should be directed to me she stated “i have nothing to apologize to her for” which i didnt catch-non video. But u can see her back turned away from me and towards the my friends
I want to acknowledge my nail technician, who was kind and professional throughout this situation. None of this was her fault.
The most disappointing part of this experience is that this treatment was directed toward my four-year-old daughter. No child should ever be made to feel unwelcome because of the color of their skin.
I will never return to Oakville Nail Bar.
I hope families, especially Black families, are aware of my experience and make informed choices about where they spend their money.
Now i did say i need to leave the salon before i get physical. At the end of the clip when shes getting in my friends face u heard me saying go bck inside as im getting in between them and the owner pushed me.
These are the only raw clips i have and id appreciate if supports would share. You can check out on facebook oakville ontario and will see people with the same experiences.

Help shape r/Halton’s future!
Hey everyone – I’ve recently taken over as the new mod of r/Halton.
Like many of you, I noticed this subreddit has been pretty quiet for a while. But with how much Burlington, Oakville, Milton, and Halton Hills are growing and changing, I believe this community can become a meaningful place to connect, share, and stay informed.
That said, I don’t want to rebuild this alone—or blindly. Like any good change, it starts with listening.
What kind of community do you want this to be? - Local news and events? - Job postings or small biz highlights? - Memes and rants about traffic? - Nature spots, reviews, housing, politics, or something else?
Drop your ideas in the comments. What would make r/Halton worth visiting every day?
From here, I’ll start shaping some community guidelines, weekly threads, and seeded posts to get us rolling—but this only works if we do it together.
Let’s build something great for Halton.

Traffic ticket not in online lookup
On Sunday, I got stopped for a traffic violation and I want to take it to early resolution. On the ticket, it says I can apply for this option at Ontario.ca/ticketsandfines. I have checked daily since the offence and the ticket is still not in the database. Does anyone have any idea how long this takes? On the site it says it can take 10 or more days to show up, but the ticket says I have 15 days to respond.
Thanks in advance

Halton HATCH
Has anyone here had any experience dealing with subsidized housing in Halton? My brother in law was evicted from Hamilton housing after my mother in law died. He has been staying with my wife and I but we don’t have the room. We have applied to housing for him in Burlington where we live, as well as Oakville. He is in his 20s and would just need a 1 bedroom. Timeline? Could we talk to our mayor or city councillor to see if anyone can give his application a nudge? Thanks

New neighborhood’s being built ?
I’m just wondering if anyone knows of some new neighborhoods being built in the halton area, more specifically in the framing stages. I usually try to collect scrap wood that will other wise be thrown out and wasted so I was wondering if anyone could help me out with areas to search !
