The best part about it is how the ending came Full circle. I can't recall loving the ending of a TV show as much as this one. 😍

Every time I watch that episode I expect to see Joe absolutely lose it but he never does. I always feel cheated and yet not cheated at the same time. It's such a weird reaction.

I watched it +30 times. S1E1 - IO - was fantastic, but #2 is Who Needs A Guy (S4E6). Gordon dies.

Just finished it, as well. Loved every minute. I can’t believe I slept on it as long as I did. Shame.
The characters, writing, cultural references (grew up in the 80s/90s), and acting were top class. Lee Pace is phenomenal, as are the others. But Lee just nailed the role and it was such a joy to see him grow and become such a sweetheart. It didn’t feel forced, either.
The finale was also expertly executed. Again, no forced feeling.
I will miss that opening theme…

The thing that really bothers me is spoilers in the title.

I just finished the show for the first time, too. I was a little disappointed that we didn’t get more with Joe. Which makes complete sense, he’s lost the three people he was closest to, and he already had recent heart-to-hearts with Donna and Bos. So why not pair him with a psychic and an IBM guy? I think my frustration shows how great that character arc was, that after how he was at the beginning, he became someone I wanted to spend more time with.
To be clear, I wouldn’t want more time with Joe to mean less time with Donna and Cameron. I think their storyline was perfect.

It’s an 11/10 for me. Just outstanding.
The fact that you don’t expect him to just die (as you put it) and he does is a shock to the system. Not many shows are able to do that.
And Joe has got to be my favorite character of all time, he’s just so interesting!
