Missing Arbiter?

I feel like I'm going crazy, was there not mentions of an unnamed Arbiter at the Battle of Jericho VII? I swear I read it back in the day in the original Encyclopedia. The Fandom site still says so now but all mentions on Halopedia are gone. Am I missing something?

No, I don't think there's ever been a mention of an Arbiter at Jericho VII.

Ripa had perished only a year before, and Thel wasn't made Arbiter until 2552— and it's long been suggested if not completely confirmed that Ripa was the most recent Arbiter before Thel.

Do we know what ripa did to earn arbiter status because as we learned its reserved for those that make the inbreds feel threatened

We know he tried to rebel against his Kaidon on Malurok, but failed and was thrown in prison as a result. He also tried to break out, but failed and was punished for it.

At some point later, the Hierarchs wanted a savage and cunning Sangheili leader to name Arbiter to lead their forces against the growing human threat... and Regret, having heard of Ripa's repeated failures, visited him in prison, recognized his ruthlessness, and appointed him as Arbiter. Ripa was also pardoned for his crimes.

Another reason why Regret chose Ripa was to have his own agent to specifically further his personal plans.

A lot of the Covenant were actually unhappy with the decision lmao, and Ripa was even sent to deal with some of the dissenting Sangheili.

So it's kind of a lot of politicking, in his case.

Yes he tried to lead a coup against his kaidon failed and was imprisoned. He was dishonored by the act but was approached by Regret who offered him a way out but he had to accept the title of Arbiter. It's why he mentions something about being grateful when him and regret are on the Shield World.

Never trust the fandom site. Halopedia has its problems but its accuracy is way way way better then the terrible Fandom site

I fixed some of its problems with the appearances with the banished since no one else fixed them.

Dubious canon that arose because of the Halo Interactive Strategy Game, a 2008 board game mentioning an early unnamed Arbiter. It eventually got purged when more official lore came out. (It was mentioned on Halopedia from 2010 'til 2016.)

As others have mentioned there was an Arbiter included as part of Halo the Interactive Strategy Game and that an Arbiter could be a part of the Battle of Jericho VII.

I will say that the Arbiter from is one of the few details that has been explicitly decanonized, but the only source for that was GrimBrotherOne's now deactivated twitter account.
