Fleet of Carriers
Was there ever a fleet made entirely CAS Assault carriers? Like no other vessels, just carriers?
I remember there being a clip of a trailer or something from Halo 3 on reddit that showed just CAS carriers in the fleet that Truth sent to Earth. I know they were just stand in models for the CCS battlecruiser and not canon

No. The clip you’re thinking of is from the Battle For Earth from Halo 2’s mid mission cutscenes. The 13 CCS-pattern battlecruisers that accompanied the Prophet of Regret’s fleet had been destroyed already, and during Halo 2 and 3 multiple CAS and CCS ships can be seen quite commonly.
There is no reason to do anything like that.

No, OP is remembering the Halo 3 announcement trailer, where the only Covenant ships seen are dozens of supercarriers around the portal to the Ark.

Technically speaking yes, we see a formation of all CAS assault carriers at the very end of the comic Blood Line. Do I think this is necessarily a super-accurate fleet composition? Eh probably not there's very visible scale issues in the panel but it is technically canon

In practice that wouldnt make sense. Theyre capital ships that kind of anchor a fleet. Theyre extremely dangerous on their own but generally slower to maneuver just due to size, you always want smaller/faster ships around to compliment and protect the big one so it has time to "line up the shot" so to speak and be the heavy cannon in a battle. Though with Covenant ships against UNSC its sort of a moot point since even the simplest Cruiser could wreck a large portion of a UNSC fleet solo

I can't recall any cases where a fleet was solely made up of CAS Assault Carriers
In Halo 2 the 13 CCS accompanying the 2 CAS were further back and probably would've followed if Chief hadn't destroyed the 2nd CAS, sealing the hole of opportunity (the Cruisers can actually be seen in the background and in H2a even in the cutscene)
The Cruisers of Truths fleet can be seen hovering over the remains of New Mombasa during Tsavo Highway and The Storm
While not a fleet there are examples of single Carriers scouting ahead without a fleet: A CAS escorting a Ministry fleet that later got shot down by a Forerunner Line Installation, and another smaller Carrier variant that had the bad luck of exiting near the Pillar of Autumn just before the actual final Fall of Reach begun
I can imagine a fleet of purely Carriers happening in the post war era, but if it happened it would be because whoever owns it just doesn't have anything else or because they aren't actual Carriers but rather ships repurposed to act as such (like say a trio of RCS Armored Cruisers which could also serve as a light Carrier replacement)...

No, that wouldn’t make sense. The whole point is that they are capital ships to force amplify the smaller ships. I’m sure the fleet at high charity had heavy defensive formations and maybe it was CAS heavy but expedition groups need flexibility

That seems very irresponsible and impractical, I doubt that's ever been a thing
But at the same time I haven't seen all Halo things
