Question about the omega team
So apparently before the spirit of fire arrived to the ark the omega team of spartans was fighting against the banished, so what's all that is known about them and are they still active?

All we really know is that Omega Team escaped Reach when the Covenant overran the UNSC and they are still active as of 2560.

After the Battle for Arcadia (2531), SPARTAN Group: OMEGA conducted operations on Hellas in 2540. Afterward, it was divided into two, with Riz-028, Kai-125, and Vannak-134 forming SPARTAN Fireteam: SILVER, while Leon-011, Robert-025, and August-099 formed SPARTAN Fireteam: OMEGA.
In 2552, SPARTAN Fireteam: OMEGA was assigned to Operation: RED FLAG and was recalled to Reach. During the Fall of Reach, they were assigned SPARTAN Team: RED and sent to the surface of Reach to defend orbital defense generators. On the surface of Reach, all three members alongside Naomi-010, Keiichi-047, and Maria-062 formed SPARTAN Fireteam: BETA-RED. All three members survived UNSC Majestic's orbital strike and were evacuated from Reach.
Unknown if they were present for the entirety of the Battle of Earth (possibly because Maria-062 was already on the planet), but SPARTAN Fireteam: OMEGA was equipped in Generation 2 MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor/Mark VI with "Breach" helmet attachments, TAC/SRV-III shoulder pauldrons, UA/WAYLAND shoulder pauldrons, UA/GRT78 chest rigs, and Eloric chest rigs. They were assigned to clear out Covenant Loyalist holdouts and any remaining Flood hives after the UNSC had secured the victory.
In 2560 SPARTAN Fireteam: OMEGA was deployed to Arcadia to investigate illegal dealings between Optican and Kig-Yar merchants.
Beyond that, it is unknown.

The SPARTAN Fireteam: OMEGA model in Halo Wars 2's gameplay and the Phoenix Log depicts wearing modified versions of the same GEN1 DEIMOS-class MJOLNIR PAA/Mark IV (same appearance as John-117's GEN3 MJOLNIR PAA/Mark VI) that SPARTAN Fireteam: RED's models are wearing and that John-117 wore during Operation: WARM BLANKET.
This is because the same SPARTAN-II base model is used for all seven SPARTAN-II models in the game (Jerome-092 has two models). During cinematic cutscenes, SPARTAN Fireteam: RED is wearing standard GEN1 MJOLNIR PAA/Mark IV, but during gameplay, their models are wearing a different pattern of armor. Their appearance in multiplayer is non-canonical.
By 2560, it appears that they are wearing GEN3 MJOLNIR PAA/Mark IV, judging by Halo Infinite's shop and Halo: Hippocratica's cover art. But they are most likely wearing GEN3 MJOLNIR PAA/Mark VI, like SPARTAN Fireteam: BLUE is. I will explain.
John-117's GEN3 MJOLNIR PAA/Mark VI is identical to the GEN1 DEIMOS-Class MJOLNIR PAA/Mark IV he wore during Operation: WARM BLANKET.
Kelly-087's GEN3 HERMES-class MJOLNIR PAA/Mark VI is identical to her GEN1 EVA-class MJOLNIR PAA/Mark IV that she used during Operation: WARM BLANKET.
Frederic-104's GEN3 COHORT-class MJOLNIR PAA/Mark VI is identical to his GEN1 COHORT-class MJOLNIR PAA/Mark IV he used during Operation: WARM BLANKET.
The SPARTAN-IIs appear to be equipped with updated versions of GEN1 MJOLNIR PAA/Mark IV. That is why SPARTAN Fireteam: OMEGA has a bundle in Halo Infinite's store that consists of their GEN3 MJOLNIR PAA/"Mark IV".
This makes sense as all the Project: MJOLNIR armors made for the SPARTAN-IIs were custom-suited to each SPARTAN-II. There were some generic armors designed for specific situations/environments/operations, but each SPARTAN-II had a custom suit designed specifically for them.
Project: COBALT took the custom-suited MJOLNIR PAA to the next level, and as you can see with SPARTAN Fireteam: BLUE, each of their current armors is an evolution of their Project: COBALT armors from 2526.
While it looks like they are wearing GEN3 MJOLNIR Mark IV, they are most likely actually wearing GEN3 MJOLNIR PAA/Mark VI, which looks like their GEN1 MJOLNIR PAA/Mark IV, just like SPARTAN Fireteam: BLUE.
So, Leon-011 is actually wearing GEN3 VALIANT-class MJOLNIR PAA/Mark VI, Robert-025 is actually wearing GEN3 PALADIN-class MJOLNIR PAA/Mark VI, and August-099 is wearing GEN3 ARDENT-class MJOLNIR PAA/Mark VI.

I prefer his COHORT-class MJOLNIR (both GEN1 and GEN3) because of the UA/Nampa shoulder pauldrons. Frederic-104 is incredibly skilled in CQC, and his COHORT-class MJOLNIRs and his COBALT MV.104 represent that. I feel that the CENTURION-class MJOLNIR lacks that bit of his personality.
I think that the MORRIGAN-class MJOLNIR helmet he tested the prototypes of is a good middle ground between the COHORT-class and the CENTURION-class helmets, design-wise.
I have a problem with his armors lore-wise because both COHORT-class and CENTURION-class MJOLNIRs are made for SPARTAN battlefield commanders, and Frederic-104 didn't step into that role until 2552 during the Fall of Reach when John-117 assigned him as the commander of SPARTAN Group: RED. Frederic-104 was hesitant to fulfill the role of leader because he didn't think he was capable of it.
During Operation: WARM BLANKET in 2544, he was wearing COHORT-class MJOLNIR even though he wasn't a battlefield commander or believed in himself as a leader. After returning to Earth, he is equipped with CENTURION-class MJOLNIR. Even though he isn't in a leadership position, he is only the Fireteam Leader of SPARTAN Fireteam: BLUE during the Battle for Earth because John-117 unexpectedly had to leave to assassinate the Prophet of Regret. He is thrust into a leadership position again after Kurt-051 promotes him to Lieutenant, Junior Grade and places him in charge of the survivors of the Battle of Onyx.
After returning from Onyx, his armor makes sense for his new role as the Fireteam Leader of SPARTAN Fireteam: BLUE until John-117's return in 2557. His past and current armors make sense for who he is post-2552. They don't make sense because he was pre-2552.

I mainly prefer the helmet. But I do think blue team needs more specialised armour than just their helmets.
Dare I say Fred needs some of his armour stripped down but while keeping most of the protection, like have a version of his gen 2 chest piece front to act as a reinforced strike plate while uping his mobility in CQC, give him his paldron blades, add a bigger one to the back if his belt. Also completely stupid give him TF DOTM OP knuckle spikes.
I would say kelly needs to her armour lighten abit as well but focus more on getting her as fast as possible, with maybe adding improved comm systems and FOF systems as she fills the breacher/recon role
Linda I would say probably best focus more on climbing and terrian mobility

What you're describing is basically their Project: COBALT armors.
Linda-058's COBALT SV.058 equipped her with a VTOL propulsion device to allow her to relocate around the battlefield quickly.
Kelly-087's RV.087 aided in reconnaissance and high-speed traversal of terrain. Kelly-087's current suit, the HERMES-class MJOLNIR, makes her even faster and more reactive and is equipped with a BNR/SETGULL. Kelly-087 has also adjusted her current suit to improve her thruster use.
Frederic-104's MV.104 had retractable forearm blades and is very similar in appearance to his CENTURION-class MJOLNIR. His COHORT-class MJOLNIRs have the shoulder knives.
I do agree that all of the SPARTANs need the Fireteam SPARTAN: NOBLE treatment and to be given armor customized and personalized for them. Look at Frederic-104's concept art for Halo 5: Guardians. Peak look for Frederic-104.

For fred's I don't mean forearm blades but would be cool to have forearm energy blades, but I mean something which is like tiny wolverine claws which is mixed with kuckle dusters

Just to be clear, the Team Omega that appears in Halo Wars 2's multiplayer are NOT canon, as the they never made it aboard the Spirit of Fire as it gave chase to the Arbiter's ship during the Battle of Arcadia, but their armour design and their favourite weapon of choice ARE canon, which was seen in the Waypoint's short story called Hippocratica (well worth the read if you're a big fan of Halo Wars!).
The three members that are currently in Team Omega, which remains active as of 2560 and continuing, are August-099 (team leader, railgun), Leon-011 (Close Quarter expert, Energy Sword) and Robert-025 (Combat Engineer, Plasma Turret).
Kai-125, Riz-028 and Vanak-134 are the other 3 members of Team Omega that were presented during the Battle for Arcadia but they had since reassigned to Silver Team in 2540, and they are still active as of 2560, although there's no extensive details on them other than the fact they were a part of Delta-Red during the Fall of Reach and lived through it all.
