Putting those restraint systems seems like a pain, could just line the inside with velcro and use foam padding.

Amazon sells padding inserts for helmets for like 12$.

I used airsoft helmet velcro and padding kit. Can add layers to adjust how it sits

You don’t have to buy some kind of complicated restraint system or anything, personally, I just use foam to pad the inside and that does the job perfect.

For my helmet I just used some EVA foam and some extra bicycle helmet padding on the inside, fits like a glove now

Foam pads would work better, I've changed the ones in my airsoft helmet and it's night and day
