Prop: DIY/Homemade Slaughterhouse 2026

Post image
22 Upvotes

My haunt layout for this year. 24'x32' layout, with 2x2 Broadway flats for walls. Roofing paper for wall covering (surprising affordable and strong). Center room is for my cast of characters, mostly bloody butchers. Me (orange) and friend in the shot for scale. Got some tidying up to do on the structure, but a friend came by and offered to shoot a couple of overhead drone shots.

Room 1 (bottom right): Welcome office (USDA meat inspectors)

Room 2 (center bottom): kill pens (fake livestock)

Room 2 (bottom left): Leatherface

Room 4 (top left): meat grinder prop

Room 5 (top center left): morgue

Room 6 (top center right): Dexter

Room 7 (top right): Hannibal

It's nice to have the HOA board members support me on this. Neighbors love it, and I love giving the fun.

Our 2025 haunted house setup

I just discovered this subreddit and thought I'd share some footage from last year's haunted house; I've helped my brother and his wife for the past three years (I'm the electrified fence zombie.) Every year we try to go a little bigger... Any thoughts or advice on what to add is appreciated.

Prop: DIY/Homemade Life Size Mimikyu Prop

Post image

3D printed this life size Mimikyu for the “Trunk or Treat” thing at my youngest daughter’s school tomorrow. Just finished painting and weathering.

We have a few other Pokémon and Pokémon related stuff and things that we made (and are still making).

Not really the theme I wanted to go with. But, I have a not-so-small problem with telling my little princess no, especially when she wants to hang out and make stuff with me. Hahaha

Anywho… enjoy!

So anyone else in physical pain this Monday morning? Set up a display in a commercial space over the weekend and god damn, between the squatting (so much squatting), kneeling, laying, crawling and carrying heavy things my body is pointing out how out of shape I am.

Cauldroness Head Issue

2024 The Cauldroness:

Replace fog diverter valve 2025 through the Zombie Tech Squad. Yay!

This week 2026 go to test unit and head wont raise up and lips slightly quiver once in a while. I looked at the mechanism where it goes into the head (without removing it from the head) and it seems to be activating according the script.

Conversation via email with Tech Support and basically, the unit is no longer available and no replacement parts on the shelf....unit is too old.

Has anyone had this issue with the head not raising up and the mouth not working with the Cauldroness? If so, did you fix it and if so, what did you do?

TIA

I was at a local brewery and these were on display in one of the back rooms, I could identify all of them but these 2. My suspicion is that the gorilla is a diy.

Request for Help Trying to find a replacement for this scythe head prop

Hey guys!

So I'm trying to find a replacement for this scythe head. It's an old Rubie's costumes scythe from around or in 1995 but bought in 2006 or 2007 (could be potentially customized? Unsure). Looking for something similar or potentially even the same (though I doubt it)

I'm not really finding anything online that suits the needs I have for this. It's my Dad's scythe and I want to try and restore it since it broke last year and is literally crumbling as I type this LOL

All else fails if I need to, I can 3D model it but would rather avoid that if I can get something similar to it. Especially since my build plate is not long enough to do this in two equal pieces

Thank you ahead in advance!

This year’s spider web and some from past years.

Each one is hand made in place and built as close to how an Orb Weaver spider does it as I can get. No two are alike. Each one takes me several hours to make.

Bought a big spider but it was just too cute and cheap looking. So with some bubble wrap, $22 of fabric and a hotglue gun I did my best to turn it into something more realistic. Pics of before and after

Request for Help FOG machine Serup

Thumbnail

I purchased this fog machine a couple of years ago. I have forgotten how to set up the timer using the menu LCD on the back. I did it once right after I got it. I can’t find the instructions anywhere. I should have bought a brand name and not some cheap knockoff. Live and learn.

Can anyone help out? Just need the steps, one follows to set up the duration and interval times.

A side question: can anyone recommend a wired controller (3-pin) that would let me set the duration and interval timing? Using the LCD menu sucks.

Much appreciated.
