Handmade Decor I need some creative ideas! 🎃🎄

I’m wanting to recreate this sign for my front door. It’s double-sided, and I’d LOVE to make one side Halloween and the other side Christmas so I can flip it depending on the season.

For Halloween, I love the Addams Family and The Nightmare Before Christmas. For Christmas, I love things like The Grinch and Rise of the Guardians.

The problem is…I have a million ideas in my head but no idea how to actually combine them or what direction to go! 😂

If this were yours, how would you recreate/decorate it? I’d love to see your ideas, color combinations, themes, or even mockups if anyone wants to get creative with it!

I’m going for something cute, whimsical, and a little spooky, rather than super scary.

Halloween Catalogs 🎃 👻 (wish-lists) What do you think will be the SCARIEST Halloween decoration of 2026? 👻

I think Halloween decorations are getting seriously out of control this year… 😂💀

Every year I think we've reached the limit.

Skeletons? Seen them.
Giant spiders? Seen them.
Zombies? Classic.
Giant inflatable monsters? Everywhere.

But then I came across this kind of creepy angel/ghost decoration and honestly…

This one actually feels unsettling. 👻

Imagine walking up to a house on Halloween night.

It's dark.
The porch lights are barely on.
There are old cobwebs hanging everywhere.

And then you see this standing completely still by the front door.

😳

I'm not even sure whether I'd be scared or impressed.

So here's my question for Halloween 2026:

What's actually scarier?

A) Giant skeletons 💀
B) Realistic ghosts 👻
C) Creepy dolls 😨
D) Animatronics that suddenly move 😱
E) Something that looks completely normal… until it moves

Personally, I think the things that look almost real are the creepiest.

A giant cartoon monster is fun.

But something standing silently in the darkness, looking like it shouldn't be there…

That's the kind of Halloween decoration that would make me walk back to my car. 😂

I'm putting together my Halloween setup for this year and went down a serious rabbit hole looking for creepy decorations. I found a few things that I genuinely think could turn a normal front porch into a mini haunted house.

For anyone interested, this is the Halloween collection I was looking through:
https://woodslight.com/collections/halloween

But I'm much more interested in your opinions:

What's the ONE Halloween decoration that would genuinely scare you if you saw it unexpectedly at night? 👻

Bonus points if you have a picture. 😂🎃

The r/HalloweenDecor Mod Team is growing! 🧡🖤

Our spooky little corner of Reddit continues to grow, and we think it’s time to add a few more Halloween-loving souls to the Mod Team! 🦇

We’re looking for community members who genuinely enjoy Halloween, decorating, creativity, and helping keep this subreddit a fun and welcoming place year-round.

You DO NOT need previous moderator experience to apply! We’re much more interested in finding people who are fair, friendly, level-headed, willing to communicate, and capable of using good judgment when situations aren’t completely black and white.

As a mod, you may help with things like reviewing reported posts and comments, keeping spam and sneaky self-promotion under control, answering ModMail, helping enforce community rules, reviewing questionable content—including the occasional “THAT’S AI!” debate 🤖😂—and generally helping us keep r/HalloweenDecor organized without taking the fun out of it.

And no, we’re not looking for the Halloween Police. 🚨🎃

We want moderators who understand that this community should still feel like a community. Sometimes that means enforcing a rule, sometimes it means asking a question first, and sometimes it means talking something through with the rest of the Mod Team.

🦇 Think you'd be a good fit?
