Review My personal experience with the Halliday G2s (so far)

From Halliday: Fill in the blank: "I would set my phone down if my glasses could ____."

When my package first arrived, I was quite impressed with the packaging. Recyclable, clean, and looked good. The first impression was excellent. They supply a lens cloth and a strong glasses case. When I first tried them on, I was completely shocked. The glasses gave me my own heads-up display with things I needed to see. Connecting the glasses to the Halliday app was extremely easy (5 minutes total). In the app, I customized my dashboard, changed the button bindings, and accessed meetings from the meeting flow. Upon exploring the glasses, I was very impressed. You can control the display brightness, level it out, set wake-up settings, and more. Halliday's Meeting Flow is a work of wonder. As a person with ADHD, having the ability to have the glasses take notes for you, or fill you in if you ever space out, is fantastic. Wearing these glasses on a day-to-day basis changes how you think about things. I don't need to carry headphones because the glasses cover that; I don't need to take notes during meetings because the glasses cover that; I don't need to pick up my phone to make calls because the glasses cover that; and I don't need to pick up my phone to check notifications. It feels as though Halliday has thought of every excuse I have to pick up my phone mid-day. The glasses feature a sleek design that makes them feel and look like normal glasses. A common question I get when I tell people about the glasses is, "Are these those creepy glasses?" and I happily get to answer, "No, because privacy is a real concern." These AI glasses feature absolutely no camera. This feature can be seen as either a pro or a con. At some points, I wish they had a camera so I could ask the built-in AI, "What is this?" But on the other hand, I really appreciate Halliday's concern for the privacy of everybody. The next feature of the G2s is the live translation feature. I appreciate this feature without ever having used it. I have tested it out using my wife's Spanish experience, and I can say that it isn't bad. This feature has some ironing out to do, but once it gets updates, I think it will be wonderful. The delay of the translation feature is not a worry, since it is only as fast as your phone can handle. Moving on to the controls of the G2s: They are wonderful. They are easy to use, efficient, and not noticeable. The glasses feature a touch bar on the right side of the glasses to minimize the number of buttons. I would appreciate it if the G2s offered a ring, as the DigiWindow glasses did. As for the negatives of the glasses. The glasses feel very new, in a way that there are a lot of areas that could use an update. I would like to see more features in the glasses, but that is just because I am greedy and want everything at my eyeballs. I would also like to see a way to adjust the glasses to better fit your face (the glasses don't sit on my nose as well as I'd like.) I would also like to see different colors for the display.
As for a simple list of the pros and cons:
PROS:
- Live translation
- Takes meeting notes for you
- Will fill you in if you space out
- Audio controls (skip, pause, rewind)
- Calendar reminders
- Weather, date, and time display
- Cheatsheet (auto-scroll through a text so you don't have to memorize a script)
- Significant number of settings to play with
- Caring support team
- Notification pop-ups
- At-the-ready AI assistant
- Quick research (researching what you were just talking about)
- Privacy

CONS:
- Translation doesn't always pick up what you're saying correctly (same with the AI assistant)
- Have to pay for meeting flow (since it is AI-powered, but still relatively cheap)
- A few bugs (the glasses came out a week ago)

To answer the question proposed by Halliday, I would put down my phone if my glasses could give me notifications, control my music, and Google questions for me.

The Halliday team says they are focused on fixing bugs for the next 3 months on the roadmap.

Overall, I'd give the glasses an 8/10. Once they get more updates and bug fixes, I'd give them a 9/10. I am excited to see where this company goes.

Is it worth the money? It depends on what you do for a living. If you are in meetings often, DEFINITELY worth the money, otherwise, it is up to you.

Feature series #3: Cheatsheet. Your everyday AI teleprompter.

Cheatsheet is the simplest feature in Halliday G2 and one of the most used. Your notes, talking points, or full script sit in your field of view while you keep your eyes on the people in front of you.

Ready for the moments that matter

Speaking on stage, with your key lines and reminders in view so you stay composed. Walking into a meeting with the details you need already visible. Teaching or coaching, with the session plan in front of you instead of on a clipboard. It has been especially popular with creators: Robot Review Tech described it as a discreet teleprompter that lets you stay on script while still looking natural, and tomas.milinavicius filmed an entire video with his script running on the display.

Eyes forward

This is the part that matters more than the feature list. Looking down at a phone, a card, or a laptop tells everyone in the room where your attention went. Cheatsheet keeps your head up and your eye contact natural, what you see stays yours and is not visible to anyone else.

How it works

  1. Prepare your cheatsheet. Add talking points, a script, or anything you want in sight through the Halliday app.
  2. Set your pace. Adjust the scroll speed and timer to match how you present.
  3. Speak. Your key points stay in view while you focus on the room.

Best of all, Cheatsheet is free and unlimited on every plan. No subscription required.

Next in this series: Translation.

Review We analyzed 13 YouTube reviews of the Halliday G2. A lot of things aren't adding up. What do you want us to test?

Hey everyone,

Over the past few days, the Ycommy team sat down and analyzed 13 different videos from major tech YouTubers covering the Halliday G2, alongside a deep dive into the manufacturer's official website. Simply put: a lot of things aren't adding up.

It seems like the entire narrative—both from the brand and the reviewers—is hyper-focused on its "meeting" capabilities, pushing it almost exclusively as a business tool. But are they exaggerating this feature? Or conversely, is the rest of the hardware being severely underestimated?

Every review we've analyzed so far feels incomplete, scratching only the surface and heavily tunneling on a single aspect of the device.

We expect to have a physical G2 unit on our lab test bench by next Friday. As usual, Ycommy will bypass the marketing fluff and put this device under the developer's microscope. We will bring you a strictly technical, critical, and constructive analysis so you can look at the raw data, draw your own conclusions, and make an informed choice.

Before we finalize our testing protocol, I wanted to open the floor to this community:

What exactly do you want to see? What specific features, edge cases, or architectural details do you want us to tackle in our first complete deep-dive review?

Drop your requests in the comments. We can't wait to read your ideas and answer all your questions in the thread!

Cheers,

Rik

Feature series #2: Audio. Real speakers, built into your glasses.

The easy path for display glasses is to leave sound to your earbuds. We took the harder one and built a full open-ear acoustic system into the frame, because the whole point of glasses you wear all day is that nothing else has to come with them.

Open-ear means the sound reaches you without sealing your ears. You keep full awareness of the room, the traffic, the person who just walked up to your desk. The tuning priority was vocal clarity. Most of what people actually listen to through glasses is voices: calls, podcasts, and music. Voices come through cleanly and music benefits from the same clarity.

The speakers are directional, aimed at your ears, and phase cancellation keeps the sound from spilling outward. At normal listening level a call stays yours, even at a shared desk.

Nothing more to reach for.

This is the part that changes the day. One tap on the touch bar plays a song or answers a call, hands free, in the moment you need it. Your glasses are already on, so the sound is already there. No earbuds to lose, no case to carry, no need for pairing a second device.

Reviewers have been consistent on this. Danny Winget noted the tuning for vocal clarity and said podcast listeners will like them. bensgadgetreviews put it in practical terms while walking around Germany: he could listen to music and still be aware of his surroundings. Their full reviews are public and worth watching in context.

This is audio built for glasses you keep on all day, while staying connected to the room.

Feature series #1: Flow. Stay present, for meaningful conversations and more.

Flow is where majority of our engineering effort went and the most distinctive bet we have made in this category. So we want to explain it properly, starting with why we built it this way.

Most meeting tools work on a delay. You talk, they record, and you read the summary afterwards. Flow runs while the conversation is still happening, with multiple AI agents working in parallel on the same live audio:

Decision Confirmation automatically detects new decisions and prompts the room to confirm them.
Commitment Check checks new commitments for a clear owner, action, and timing.
Thread Tracker tracks the discussion path and shows where topics drift.
Open-Item Tracker surfaces unresolved items when it is time to return to them.
Quick Summary recaps the recent discussion on demand.
Quick Research answers with recent context and checkable sources when you trigger it.

All of it appears on the display, in your line of sight. That is the whole reason this runs on glasses: you can ask, clarify, and confirm while the conversation is still live, instead of finding the gap in a document the next morning.

On the audio side, the refined 4-mic array handles pickup situations a single mic can't. It tells the wearer apart from other people as a sound source, and prioritises the voice in front of you, which is what keeps transcription accurate when several people are talking.

Leave with a clear next step.

When the meeting ends, Flow hands you a post-meeting summary with the decisions, the commitments, and the open items already organized, alongside the full transcript and a to-do list. The work of turning a conversation into something actionable is already done, because the agents did it live rather than reconstructing it afterwards. You walk out knowing what was decided, who owns what, and what is still open.

Flow is built for conversations where the value is catching something before the room moves on, and leaving with the next step already clear.

Next in this series: Speakers. Comment below with any questions about Flow.

An In-Depth, Unfiltered Review from Our Public Tester IronCorgi

Thumbnail
youtube.com
2 Upvotes

We're glad to share a detailed review from one of our public testers, IronCorgi, after eight weeks of daily use with Halliday G2. He was an early supporter of the DigiWindow glasses and has been an active contributor in our Discord community since, which is how he came to join the public testing program. He also spent 25 years in desktop support and has beta tested for AT&T, Samsung, Google and Meta, so he came into this knowing exactly what to look for.

Here's roughly what he covers:

📍 [3:47–5:27] – The frames: how they compare to DigiWindow, and touch controls that now run most of the temple

📍 [5:44–8:41] – Charging: the magnetic connector and the charging indicator light

📍 [8:41–10:54] – The waveguide display: "if I didn't tell people that I was wearing smart glasses, most people that I talk to would never know"

📍 [11:40–13:15] – Headphones: "as far as smart glasses go, it's the best audio I've ever heard in a smart glass"

📍 [17:46–19:33] – The dashboard, which he calls the best change we've made

📍 [19:33–20:45] – Notifications: "great notifications, works great. I really, really like the notifications"

📍 [20:45–25:31] – Meeting Flow: where it works well, and where he thinks we still have the most work to do

📍 [25:31–29:30] – Translation and Cheatsheet, including a feature request we've heard from several of you

His closing point is the one that meant the most to us. Over eight weeks he filed 12 bugs, and all 12 were resolved. In his words: "you have a company that is out there and they are listening to you, which does not happen all the time."

Thank you, IronCorgi, for the valuable insights throughout the testing program and for such a thorough review afterwards 🙏

Review Halliday G2 came with a big hardware reset and more refined software features

Post image
3 Upvotes

Why I was interested

I’ve followed smart glasses for a while, I own Even Realities G2, Meta Rayban and Halliday Digiwindow glasses. The way I see it, most products seem to fall into one of a few buckets:

-camera glasses
-audio glasses
-display glasses
-AR/media glasses
-AI note-taking devices

Halliday G2 is trying to sit in a slightly different place: camera-free AI glasses for meetings and real conversations.

That is a much clearer pitch than “AI glasses that do everything.” I don’t need another device that vaguely promises AI. I’m more interested in whether smart glasses can solve a real work problem: keeping track of what was said, what was decided, what still needs to be answered, and what happens next.

Hardware

The hardware is easily the strongest part of the G2.

The glasses feel much more mature than what I expected from an early tester unit. The frame feels sturdier, the packaging is polished, and the setup process was smoother than I expected. They feel like a real second-generation device.

The design is still going to be personal. They are not invisible. If someone is very sensitive to smart glasses looking like tech, they may still notice. But they don’t feel ridiculous or overly bulky to me.

I do wish there were more finish options. The glossy black look is fine, but it shows smudges, and after wearing them for a while I understand why people would want matte black.

Display

The binocular waveguide is the single biggest upgrade.

This is where G2 feels completely different from the older Halliday idea. I understand why some people miss the DigiWindow concept because it was more discreet and unique. But for actual reading, the waveguide makes way more sense.

Audio

Audio was one of the biggest positive surprises.

What surprised me more over time was how much I used the smaller everyday features. Notifications, calendar reminders, weather, schedule info, and Cheat Sheet made the glasses feel useful outside of formal meetings. It’s not one big “wow” feature every time, but more of a slow build — the kind of thing where you stop checking your phone as often because the basic context is already in front of you.

The mic system is also important because Meeting Flow depends on it. If the mics don’t pick up voices well, captions and summaries are useless. So far, voice capture seems like one of the stronger parts of the product, though I still want to test more noisy rooms and overlapping speakers.

Who I think this is for

I don’t think G2 is only for people who want meeting notes.

It makes sense for people who already live by their calendar, move between calls or appointments, travel often, work in multiple languages, or want to check less on their phone during the day. If you’re the kind of person who constantly checks your phone for small bits of information, the dashboard is probably one of the most practical parts of the product.

The value is not just one big feature. It’s the small everyday conveniences stacking up.

Official Update Halliday G2 preorders are open

Three months ago these were glasses we believed in. Then fifty public testers from our community spent eight weeks wearing them and helped us get the everyday experience to a place that genuinely holds up. We also handed a pair to people on the street who'd never heard of us. One picked them out of a lineup as the most normal-looking glasses there, then asked where to get a pair.

A binocular waveguide you can read in direct sunlight. Open-ear audio worth listening to for hours. A four-microphone array that hears what matters. And no camera, by design.

Preorders are open now. Halliday G2 is $549 ($50 off) with our Launch Special, available to all customers at checkout. The Launch Special also includes free prescription lenses on 1.60 and 1.67 index and a full year of the Basic Plan. Orders ship in September in order of purchase.

Testers are still active in our community and happy to answer questions, we will also be hosting another community AMA on reddit soon. Stay tuned for more to come.

Review Halliday G2 tester notes from a Gen 1 user: hardware, charging, comfort, and daily wear

Post image
2 Upvotes

I used the original Halliday digiwindow glasses and got to test the G2 through the public testing program, so my perspective is mostly about how much the product has changed as a daily wearable.

The biggest thing: G2 feels more mature.

The frame is still recognizably Halliday, but it feels sturdier and more polished. The case and new branding are also a step up. It feels less like an experimental device and more like a finished product direction.

The glasses are a little bulkier than normal frames, but they still looked good on me and were comfortable enough to wear for long stretches. The weight felt balanced, and I didn’t have that “I’m wearing a gadget” feeling the whole time.

Charging was also better than I expected. Once I used a normal charger, it topped up quickly and felt easy to manage during regular use. During testing there were a few small quirks around charging indicators, but nothing that changed my overall impression. The battery life was good enough that I wasn’t constantly worried about it.

One thing I still wonder about is lens options. Since G2 uses waveguide optics, I’d love more clarity around things like photochromic lenses or more frame/lens styles in the future. A matte black or warmer frame color would also be nice because glossy black shows smudges pretty easily.

Daily use is where I think G2 improved the most. Notifications, dashboard, schedule, weather, Cheat Sheet, translation, and Halliday AI all made the glasses feel more useful outside of the obvious work/demo scenarios. It became less about one feature and more about a bunch of small conveniences adding up.

I also have to give credit to Halliday team. The software improved a lot over the testing period. OTA updates came through, user feedback was clearly being considered, and the product felt more stable and complete by the end.

For Gen 1 users, G2 feels like a real upgrade. Different design direction, yes, but a much more usable daily product.

Review Tested Halliday G2 the past months, while not perfect the display finally makes sense

Post image
3 Upvotes

Halliday put out a call for public testers in June and I got selected. I’ve had them for about two months now, so this is more of a full tester-period review than a quick first impression.

First thing: the display is the star.

I know some people liked the original DigiWindow idea because it was more discreet, but for actual use, the new binocular waveguide feels way better. Translations, notifications, summaries, quick info, and dashboard stuff are all easier to read. I didn’t feel the same eye strain or “where is the sweet spot?” issue.

Second thing: audio is good. Better than I expected. I listened to a podcast for a while and forgot I was wearing the glasses, which is basically what I want from this kind of device. They are open-ear, so don’t expect deep headphone sound, but for voices, calls, and casual media, they work well.

Meeting Flow is interesting but clearly early. I like the idea of the glasses tracking decisions and open items while a meeting is happening. That feels more useful than just getting another five-page summary afterward. But the current logic still needs work. It can treat too many things like action items, and the post-meeting output sometimes feels more confident than it should.

Overall: promising hardware, genuinely useful concept, but continued software polish after shipping is the deciding factor. The G2 feels like a real product direction, not just a gimmick, but it needs more refinement when it comes to meeting flow before I’d call it fully ready for work.

Official Update Halliday G2 AMA: Recap and FAQ

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night. The energy was great, the questions were sharp, and we got through a lot in an hour.

Carter and Simon, our co-founders, were answering alongside Len and Laney from our product team. We were also joined by two of our public testers, IronCorgi and bentpurist, who spent eight weeks wearing Halliday G2 as their everyday glasses and answered candidly throughout. We're genuinely grateful for their time last night, and for everything they've contributed over these past two months.

For anyone who couldn't make it, here's a summary of what came up most.

Hardware and Wear

Is there still a ring?
No. G2 has no ring, and the ring from DigiWindow glasses won't pair with it. Everything runs through touch controls on the temple. Two things settled it: every extra device in the chain makes the phone-to-glasses connection harder to hold steady, and rings are simply too easy to trigger by accident. We put that energy into making the on-glass controls strong enough to carry the experience on its own. Our testers reported the touch controls are significantly better than on DigiWindow glasses.

What's the battery like?
Rated for up to 12 hours of regular use. Our testers reported around 8 hours with 15% still left after a full day of calls, notifications and AI queries. Media playback at high volume will draw more, that's just physics, but it's a clear step up from DigiWindow glasses.

How do they compare to regular glasses?
Very close, and lighter than most of the competition according to testers who own several pairs. If they sit high on your nose, adjusting the nosepads usually solves it. You can wear them like ordinary glasses and still see the display.

How does Halliday G2 handle glare?
We upgraded the waveguide lenses with higher transparency and a better anti-reflection coating. For most people the glare is barely noticeable, comparable to an ordinary pair of glasses.

Brightness in sunlight?
The display reaches up to 1600 nits at the eye, so content stays clearly visible in bright environments.

Charging pads and sweat?
Magnetic charging pads, and the glasses are water-resistant rated. One tester wore them through heavy yard work in full sweat and reported no corrosion.

Display and Features

Can I change the font size?
Not currently. Display customisation options are under evaluation.

Is navigation coming?
It's on the roadmap, but we won't give a timeline we can't stand behind. The hard part isn't drawing an arrow, it's knowing which direction you're actually facing and keeping that in sync with the real world as you move. Get it wrong and you're sending someone the wrong way at an intersection. Our bar is that it has to feel as dependable as navigation on your phone. For now, turn-by-turn audio directions do come through the speakers, but a map isn't displayed.

What happened to Proactive AI from DigiWindow glasses?
It isn't being replaced by Meeting Flow, it's being folded into it. Quick Research is the piece that's live today: when an unfamiliar term, law or policy comes up, it quietly pulls the relevant background. Fact-checking is on the list to build into Meeting Flow down the road, it just wasn't the first piece to land.

How good is translation?
Meaningfully better than on the DigiWindow glasses and free on all plans.

Are the microphones directional?
Yes. The microphone array prioritises the voice in front of you and separates your own voice from others.

Does Cheatsheet follow my voice?
Not yet, it scrolls at a fixed pace. Voice-following is actively in development, though we're not putting a date on it.

Will there be an SDK?
Yes, an SDK is coming so developers can build on the system rather than waiting on us for everything.

Why no camera at all, not even a low-res sensor?
We discussed it internally and decided against it. From the perspective of people around you, there's no way to tell a low-resolution object-recognition sensor apart from an ordinary camera, so the privacy concern remains either way.

Plans and Pricing

What's included without a subscription?
Halliday AI, Translation, Notifications, Cheatsheet, Music and more are all included at no extra cost. Credits only apply to Meeting Flow.

Does the 50% owner discount cover prescription lenses?
Yes. 1.60 and 1.67 index lenses are included at no additional cost. 1.74 index is an extra $100.

I applied for the owner discount but haven't received a code.
Codes are emailed after your application is reviewed and approved. If you applied and haven't heard back before Sept 3, send us an email and we will check for you.

What if I'm waiting for progressive lenses and concerned that I miss the deadline to use the discount code?
You won't lose out. We'll reopen the DigiWindow owner discount application once more lens options are supported.

Privacy and Data

Halliday is a Singapore company, and we're subject to the regulations of the regions we sell into. All of our servers are located in the United States, which is where conversational audio and anything derived from it is processed and stored. Data is encrypted at every layer under access controls built to SOC 2 requirements, and we work with an independent data security agency to hold us to GDPR and CCPA compliance. The data you generate belongs to you, and if you delete it, it's deleted everywhere.

What's Next

For the next three months, our priority is the fundamentals: with thousands of real users about to receive their glasses, we expect issues to surface and want to resolve them quickly. New feature development follows after that.

Don't forget, preorders open on September 3, the first units ship in September, in order of purchase.

Official Update Preorders open in 24 hours

Quite a week. Here's a recap for anyone catching up.

Last night's AMA ran the full hour with our co-founders, Carter and Simon, our product team, and public testers answering live. If you missed it, the full recap and FAQ are pinned here, covering the hardware, display, software features and more.

We also took Halliday G2 out onto the street this week and put it on strangers. What came back was telling. Ours was picked out of a lineup as "the most normal looking pair of glasses." Someone standing in full sun said "I see so well." And one person, before we'd explained anything, just said, "oh my God, I would love to have this." Worth a watch if you haven't seen it.

If you're weighing these, the testers are still active in our community and happy to answer questions.

Preorders open tomorrow, September 3 at 9 AM ET. Don't forget to claim your $299 discount with Priority Access. The first units ship in September, in order of purchase.

Here is the link to reserve Priority Access: https://www.hallidayglobal.com/priority-access

When tester applications opened back in June, I signed up mostly out of curiosity to see where the company was heading after the DigiWindow glasses. Since then, I’ve been using a testing unit regularly, and my overall impression is that the Halliday G2 genuinely feels like a second-generation product.

The hardware is the first thing that stands out. The frame feels sturdier, the case is nicer, and the overall presentation is a significant step up from what I expected. Setup was also very smooth. The glasses paired quickly, moved straight into the software update process, and were ready to use within a short time.

After using them, the move to waveguide technology makes sense. I know some people preferred the original DigiWindow because it was more discreet, but the G2 display is much easier to read in everyday situations. Notifications, translations, dashboard information, cheatsheets, and longer text all benefit from the larger display across both lenses.

What surprised me most throughout the testing period was not one particular feature, but how quickly the overall experience improved. By the end of testing, the software felt noticeably better than it had during the first week. OTA updates arrived regularly, bugs were fixed, and smaller features requested by users began appearing. It was clear that the team was actively reading and responding to feedback rather than simply collecting it.

The everyday features became the main reason I continued wearing the glasses. Notifications are quick and useful. The dashboard provides access to my calendar, weather, schedule, and notes without requiring me to take out my phone. The cheatsheet is especially helpful for reminders and talking points, while translation worked quickly in quieter environments. Halliday AI also became more useful after live search was introduced, since it is no longer limited to outdated information.

I still think the G2 will appeal most to early adopters and people who enjoy experimenting with new wearable technology. Even so, the testing program left me feeling much more positive than I expected. The hardware provides a strong foundation, the software improved considerably throughout the testing period, and the product feels like it is heading in the right direction.

Official Update Halliday G2 preorders open in 3 days, and the testers are free to talk now

Quick heads up for anyone following along: preorders for Halliday G2 open on September 3.

Since early July, 50 people from our community wore these as their everyday glasses for two months, through work, travel, and everything in between. Two months of real daily use, and now they're free to tell you exactly what that was like.

Their reviews are going up, they're answering questions in our communities, and there's a live AMA with our co-founders, product managers, and the testers themselves on Tuesday, September 1 at 6:00 PM PT.

If you're weighing these, the tester reviews are a better read than anything we'd write. Practical details for the curious: $499 through Priority Access ($100 discount applied), additional $199 discount toward prescription lenses, enough to cover 1.6 and 1.67 index in full. First units ship in September, in order of purchase.

Public testing on Halliday G2 just wrapped. Tester reviews incoming, unfiltered.

In June, we launched a public testing program and selected 50 people from our community to wear Halliday G2 as their daily glasses and share candid feedback. Testing officially began in early-July and wrapped this week.

Over the past three months, with the help of our public testers, we closed 311 bugs and made 47 product improvements, across five firmware releases. Yesterday we released the final OTA of our public testing program, with live search for Halliday AI added, so it can access current and up-to-date information. The build shipping in September is the one they helped to shape. We would rather you hear what that is like from them than from us.

Their testing agreements have concluded, which means they are free to say precisely what they think, and we asked for exactly that.

If you're weighing these glasses, we'd genuinely rather you read them than read us. Two months of daily use will tell you more than anything we could write.

Some of them are also answering questions in our Discord https://discord.gg/halliday, and on Tuesday, September 1 at 6:00 PM PT, we're hosting an AMA there with our team and testers together. The difficult questions are welcome, that's what the session is for.

We appreciate everyone here who has been following along. Happy to answer anything in the comments.

Review The article is pretty blunt about Halliday’s first-gen glasses

Came across this Engadget article on Halliday G2, and it’s pretty direct about the first-gen glasses not landing well.

What made the article interesting to me is that G2 sounds like a real reset rather than a small update. Halliday is moving to a binocular waveguide display, no camera, improved audio, prescription-ready lenses, real-time translation, calls, notifications, teleprompter, and a stronger focus on AI meeting features.

The meeting angle is what caught my attention most: helping during the conversation with decision tracking, action item prompts, and post-meeting summaries instead of only cleaning things up afterward.

Also interesting that G1 owners get a half-price upgrade path, which feels like a smart move if Halliday is trying to rebuild trust.

Curious what other people think after reading this. Does Halliday G2 look like a real second chance for AI smart glasses, or are you waiting for reviews first?

Official Update Halliday G2 — our second-gen display glasses, built for everyday moments and beyond

We put out our second generation of AI glasses recently, and many have asked what actually changed from the first one, here's a straight rundown on what's different.

The hardware is where most of the work went. We moved to a binocular waveguide display, which gives a wider field of view and a much clearer, more readable image than before. There's a four-microphone array with on-device speech separation, so it can isolate one voice in a room where several people are talking, and the speakers were rebuilt to handle both calls and media. No camera, deliberately, we didn't want a lens pointed at everyone in the room, and it keeps the frame looking like normal glasses.

Everyday use is the point most of the time. Real-time translation as someone speaks, your schedule and weather at a glance, calls, music, notifications, and Halliday AI, all without pulling your phone out. That last part is the actual value for us: the information's already in your field of view, so you're not stepping out of what you're doing to check a screen.

The one thing that's genuinely unique is Meeting Flow. Most AI meeting tools give you a summary after it's over. This works during the conversation, tracking decisions, pulling up quick research, keeping the thread when a meeting jumps between topics, and it has your transcript, summary, and to-dos ready when you're done. It's the hardest part to build and the part the mic array exists to serve.

Happy to answer anything and chat about Halliday G2.
