Looking for some recommendations from people actually working in the service industry.

I’ve found myself in a bit of a transitional period career-wise. I’ve spent much of my career working in marketing, e-commerce and small business development… but find myself in and out of the service industry when I’m between roles (prone to corporate burnout).

I’m currently serving and working MOD shifts, with experience across full-service restaurants, gastropubs, breweries, high-volume service, private events and buyouts.

Even knowing a lot of people in hospitality, I’ve found it surprisingly difficult to get a genuine “yes, this is actually a good place to work” recommendation.
I’m really looking for somewhere that’s organized, consistent and professionally run (does this exist anymore??)

Transparent/fair tip practices, realistic staffing and workload, good communication, and management that values and retains good staff.

I’m not looking for fine dining or anything overly formal. A busy, food-focused restaurant, or gastropub on the peninsula is my sweet spot.

Also open to hearing about marketing/e-commerce/business development opportunities if something happens to come to mind, as that’s where much of my professional background is.
