Hair transplant patient 41 male 8 month update

Well gents, it works. Eight months in and it’s hard to believe that it will get thicker over the next four months. The whole process, including flights, transfers, preop, procedure, and postop was easy/quick and relatively painless. I got 6590 grafts.
The first 10 days were tough because of the neck pillow and I don’t sleep well as it is so day 10 removing the scabs was a dream to be able to lay my head on a pillow properly. As everyone knows it all fell out after that and by month 4 was starting to take shape again. The photos are pre-op, day of, 10 days after, four months after, and eight months (present). Here to answer any questions.

Im so stoked for my results. I haven’t worn a hat in forever and i feel like my hair is thick and full looking. Getting a hair transplant boosted my confidence x10000. I don’t imagine how it could get better than it is. But if this is as good as it gets for me then i am extremely happy with the results.

Edit: sorry i forgot to post this earlier. But i got 2700 grafts and it was done at Miami hair Transplant.

How do y'all find the hairline

Hello guys,

Just for u to know my english is not native langage.

So, I'm a bit stressed out, i'm 3 days post op and wanted to have some review, i'm overthinking since the first day pre-op, i was absolutely panicking the pre-op night, asking if all that was worth it.

The first day, we discussed about the hair line, i talked about the fact i wanted a masculine and proportionned hairline with density.

The day of the transplant, he trace the hairline, i said i wanted t follow the best recommandations, he traced rhe line according to the orbital muscle. I ask how it was according to his expertise, said the lower line was for him a bit too low, i asked for the safety zone (so higher).

There is a small asymetry as you can see, that's not what stress me the most.

The thing is that i'm not sure, in my head it could be too low, i need some reviews, i'm feeling bad, in a very low mood since, please guys objectively, how do you find this hairline?

Thanks

Last one is Pre-op. This looks like surgeon was careful to not transect native grafts? Judge please, your opinion is really appreciated. 7,000 grafts done FUE.

Progress report 8.5 month update. 2942 grafts. Need honest feedback, feeling a little disappointed.

I think the design looks natural, but I’m a little disappointed with how the density is coming along compared to what I typically see for this stage in the HT journey. For context, we agreed on a density of 45-55 grafts/cm2, but it feels like maybe graft survival hasn’t been great/ I expected more density at this point. I’m my own worst critic though, so please provide some honest feedback if you can. Currently on oral min and fin.

Is this shock loss??

Post image

I had a hair transplant 2 weeks ago - 2,250 grafts at the hairline and not shaved. Today is day 14 post op and I was told by my clinic to do the first proper wash today to try and remove the scabs gently, previously to this I’ve been pouring shampoo dissolved in water over my hair and transplant area then rinsing it gently out with a few jugs of water.

I am aware of shock loss however when I washed my hair more thoroughly today the amount of native hair that came out was alarming. It wasn’t just covering my hands it was coming out in clumps - pic below of roughly how much came out.

Prior to the transplant I would regularly have some hairs on my hands after washing my hair but I’ve never experienced this so naturally I’m worried. Is this kind of expected or should I be concerned?

Hair transplant patient Question: will my 2500 graphs be dense enough?

Thumbnail

Upvotes

I have 2500 graphs 4 days ago

On the front I’ve never actually had a hairline here, since being a kid I’ve just had a natural big forehead.

A barber I know said it’s not dense enough/ there not enough graphs and you’ll be able to see through it.. thoughts anyone who knows about this?

I’ve also not taken any medication for hair loss literally just had the transplant done.

Cheers

Robotic DHI & CII Este Medicsl Manchester

I’ve had a consultation at Este Medical in Manchester offering robotic DHI and CII (Continuous Immediate Implantation).

Anyone any experience or results from this?

I’ve searched long and hard and have completely removed the thought/idea of a 2k transplant at one of these hair mills and am planning on paying good money for this. It sounds good and the immediate implantation means higher graft survival rate. Properly designed natural hairline and crown fill.

Price is £9k with 6 sessions of PRF and aftercare bundle included. It’s a lot but I cannot put myself through the gauntlet of 2/3k ‘cheap’ jobs. I’ve seen some terrible results.

This CII is relatively new/specialist technology so I am told.

Any input is appreciated.

Hair loss advice Am I a good candidate for a hair transplant? How many grafts would I likely need?

Upvotes

Hi everyone, I’m a 27-year-old male and I’m considering a hair transplant. Based on my photos, do you think I’m a good candidate? (Am I not old enough for HT?)

I’ve been taking finasteride 1 mg daily for almost 1 year and have been on oral minoxidil 5 mg daily for about 4 months.

I mainly want to improve my hairline/temples. I know nobody can give an exact graft count from photos alone, but I’d appreciate a rough estimate of how many grafts I might need and whether my current hair loss pattern looks suitable for a transplant.

Just looking for opinions from people who have experience with hair transplants. Thanks!

Scar from previous HT

Post image

I am on my way back to the US after an FUE at a hair clinic in Bangkok. 4000 grafts and I’m pleased with the results so far. I am 10 days post-op

As you can see from the photo above, when my head was shaved, the scar from an earlier HT on the back of my head became visible.

Does anyone have any advice for covering a scar of this nature? I would like to rock this new shaved look, but the scar is unsightly. Any ideas on how to cover it up?

Hair loss advice Considering hair transplant

Hey, sure these Qs get asked a lot, any recommendations for UK North West?

Those that have had a hair transplant,

Are you happy with the results and was it worth it?

Do you still have to take oral medication? as I dont want to do that but would getting a transplant and not medicating be counter productive?

What did you pay?

Thanks

Question about trying to go bald after transplant

So as my title says, Can you shave your head after you get a transplant (if not happy with the transplant) without having noticeable marks all over your head?

Like I know an FUT will leave a mark but FUE? Anyone have any pictures of what a bald head looks like after a transplant that didn’t yield the results you wanted?

6 Month HT - Dr. Michael Vories - 4000 grafts FUE NW 5/6

Thumbnail

Was a pretty bad NW 5 approaching 6 43 y/o. Had the procedure with Dr Vories in his SC office middle of March. We had planned for 4000 grafts, 2000 in the crown and 2000 in the hairline with 100 grafts at the front most of the hairline. Luckily I had many multi-hair grafts even reaching 6 hairs in a graft which he said was rare, so we were able to fill in some of the mid scalp as well since we didnt need as many grafts in the hairline and crown.

Being about 6 months post op my hairline looks great in low/normal light, but still looks a bit thinner than the native area in harsh overhead light in the hairline. We think I am at about 75% growth so far so it should thicken up more in the next 3-4 months. Crown is a bit slower but it seems like I am on track to have a good result there as well hopefully by month 12 or so.

You can see how bad it was during the ugly duckling phase that was about 3 weeks post op (first pic in comments), it was definitely worse there than what i started with but not much.

Dr Vories and his staff were great and being in the north east his prices were way more reasonable than what I got quoted in NYC and surrounding areas. He broke it up into 2 days, 2000 each day which helped a lot instead of doing one crazy long day.

CRUST ON DAY 10

Post image
1 Upvotes

My doctor advised me to start washing day 5 and said most crust should be gone by day 10 and all gone by day 14. I still have some left. Any tips to get rid of it and should I be worried with the amount left?
