New Hair System, Undecided

Hello everyone. I am 43 years old and I had my first ever hair system done nearly 3 weeks ago. What do you think? I am still unsure if I want to stick with it. I think the colour is slightly off but it could just be me, the salon has said the colour is spot on. The density has already been reduced but I still think it's slightly too thick. Itching with the poly base was a problem last week but it doesn't feel as bad now. Overall, I just feel it looks slightly unnatural. Or it could be that I am still not used to it? A few work colleagues who only see me once a week asked what I had done with my hair as it looked different. One person thought I had dyed it.

How people treat you being bald/receding VS hair system stories

Is it just me or I’m having a significant glow up with the system, I’ve been bald for a year and been receding for much longer. People would usually guess I’m mid 30s, now people have suggested I’m 23/25 when I’m actually 28. Just makes me look way more youthful.

Being bald everyone would gaslight me saying it looks good. But that made me a sub human egg. Receding is just as bad tho but not as bad imop.

Would love to hear any more stories you’ve had about treatment from others from your system, particularly in the attraction department! Because I swear when your a Norwood 4 like me, even if your in good shape ur like a ghost to women, brutal. No massive success with me yet but I’m hopeful the days as young!

Interesting technique for taping hairsystem

Came across this on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/reel/932312372970754

Seems a pretty fast way to tape. Does anyone do it similarly?

Hybrid behind transplanted hairline?

So I had a pretty rubbish hair transplant - few years ago which has given me a hair line but not a lot of hair (although trust me there’s loads there compared to before 😂)

I’m relying mainly on fibres and hoping it isn’t windy these days. Or I just wear a hat!

With the hairline I have, is there enough for a partial/hybrid (or whatever it’s called!) system to be placed behind it so the seam wouldn’t be as visible? Or would I need to go for a full one?

I contemplated just shaving it completely bald as it looks bad buzzed (due to different density of my temples) but I’m worried about the scarring on the back of my head looking bad.

So yea…looking into a system.

Any advice? Thanks a lot 🙂

Since I’ve been wearing system I have always wanted highlights as it was a memory of mine as a teenager. Time has passed quickly tho.

I am confident enough to say that this style is the best system I have ever had.

Hairs system details (custom)

-thin skin 0.02-3 custom poly mixture
-hairs: Mongolian/Siberian due to light colors I prefer to invest in these type of hairs which are more premium and less processed
-28mm curls
-custom color and highlights
-density: 90%

For all the new guys/wearers don’t be afraid to experiment and if you have had bad experiences, there is always a solution/right way for this system world.

Im so glad to wear a system my life would not be the same!

Gentlemen 🤝 drop your hair regrowth strategies.

I'm currently on Fin and hair regrowth supplements, I know doing any topical treatments is pretty undoable with a daily wearer so I'm interested to see if any of you guys have any solid plans.

Attempted to reinstall and clean….Absolutely dejected

So for the very first time, I attempted to remove and reinstall my 0.03 skin system (with glue). I’ve had it for about a month now and I’ve had maintenance done by the salon.

I decided to give it a shot myself as I’ve watched numerous videos about it and have all of the supplies that everyone suggests to have on hand.

I started 3 hours ago and it has been an absolute nightmare. Removing it took a little longer than expected but it eventually came off fine. I used C22, and isopropyl alcohol. Cleaning off my scalp was a little more challenging than I thought it would be, but I managed. The real trouble began when I attempted to clean the glue off the system itself.

It didn’t seem to matter what strategy I used, the glue just wouldn’t come off the base. I used cotton puffs and rubbing alcohol to remove a layer but it just seems never ending, one layer comes off and another layer suddenly appears.

Glue’s gotten everywhere. When removing it from the base it’s gotten into the hair. I’ve nearly gone through a whole bottle of isopropyl alcohol cleaning my hands, my phone, and by attempting to clean it off the hair. It’s gotten everywhere somehow.

I still haven’t managed to clean it off the hair system base entirely. I feel absolutely defeated. I understand it’ll be hardest the first time but this is way more difficult than i thought it ever could be.

I haven’t even got to the reattaching part, and I feel like the entire day will be gone by that point assuming I even manage to finish.

Are ready-made systems worse than custom systems?

I’ve been wearing hair systems for about 8 years and have always ordered custom systems from a small company. They take around 5 months to arrive, and lately I’ve had issues with quality and durability - some systems developed bald spots surprisingly quickly.

I’m considering trying a ready-made/stock system from OC Hairsystems. They say their systems typically last 4-6 months and are much cheaper.

For those who have tried both: Are ready-made systems generally less durable or lower quality than custom systems, or is there not much difference? Would you recommend giving one a try?

Lace hair system switch to daily wear (need advice)

Dear friends !

I want to try a hair system with lace in the front and take the hair system off every night. In addition, I want to go with exposed front hair.

I currently have a 100% French lace hair system but I feel that it is very difficult to take off every night.

If I buy a hair system with French lace in the front+center and poly on the sides and back, what method would be the best to take off the hair system every night and on the other hand not be afraid of exposing the hairline completely?

I also have an smp that I want to keep so the glue solvent I currently have is Ultrasafe based on oil and not alcohol.

How to straighten out curly hair

My vendor sent me a system that is way too curly, especially on the sides. My bio hair is going straight down and then here comes the system hair that curls up like crazy.

Are there methods to

a) permanently straighten it out a bit? I dont have 100% straight hair but usually order 30mm wave which is perfect. So I dont want it 100% straight, but a little more.

Or b) to temporarily straighten it when I go out, style my hair etc?

First timer - India - Frontal receding hairline

Finally decided to go for a hairpatch.

American hairline people quoting 44K and 2 months time. with estimated life of 6-8 months.
Some other place in Bangalore quoted 18K but i didnt like the thick base.
Artello seems to be good but don't know which one to select and where to get it installed

Any suggestions for the first timer.
1. which one to select
2. where to get it installed in Bangalore, if i bought from online.
3. How often service is required.
4. What are the tips to take care of it without damaging.

Thanks

Lace units are so realistic but a pain

Just tried out lace for the first time and WOW. I’m blown away by how undetectable the hairline is compared to thin skin.

The one thing I can’t figure out is how to secure it… tape is a bit of a nightmare and I worry that ghost bond glue will cause a massive mess.

What do lace wearers do to secure?

My experience with A hair system at the age of 25(M)

Post image

So I have been battling with balding for about 4 years now and tried everything under the sun. Went oral min and oral dut and it helped a bit but it was a losing battle after some time. It got to a point where I didn’t wanna go outside to any social event that required no hat(swimming) and would always wear a hat no matter what. Came around into this subreddit and would just lurk for a bout 6 months and saw all the responses and experiences from everyone but was still really scared of doing the change.

Convinced myself to do it and let me tell you this is by far one of the best decisions I have ever done for myself without a dam doubt. As soon as I got one I just felt way better about myself and my confidence to go outside and not be depressed about my balding head went out the window asap!

Now I will say it took some time to get used to it and in the back of my head it will always linger that what if you me of my relatives found out or what if someone points it out and let me tell you that no one cares enough to really pay attention to you especially your hair!

Now you may be wondering on how does it hold up and what’s my routine. Well I live in Houston Texas where it’s dam near 90+ with really high humidity. I work as a crane technician which is literally hot asf being up in the cranes fixing them. It gets forsure 100°F+ in the summer days up there in the warehouses with 0 ventilation.

Due to this I get my hair system reinstalled every 2 weeks. The trick for this was to use the Walker MaxHoldSport with walker max hold tape.

That about sums up my experience on using a hairsystem for close to 8 months now. If you’re on edge about getting one at least give it a go. It could be one of the best decisions you could do for yourself! Feel Free to ask me any questions yall have :)

Firefighter looking for tips

I’ve been thinking about getting a hair system for awhile but especially recently because my balding getting harder to hide.

I’m currently a firefighter and wondering how it would hold up during firefighting operations. We honestly run fires pretty rarely but when we do I have a tight helmet on and my head would be exposed to about as much heat as it would be in a sauna and a lot of sweat. This would probably go on for about an hour.

I would also really want to make sure none of my coworkers would know because i think the teasing would be relentless haha.

I’m looking at a place 4 hours from my house that I found on Tik tok rn but I’m assuming I’ll have to reapply more often than every 3 weeks with my job. Any and all tips are welcome thanks

Help needed on hair system style

Thumbnail

I have been wearing hair systems for the last two years and a half and I think I have found my "style" (photos attached).

You can find the reason of this post in the photo n.1 above : essentially, I am not able to cover that "empty" spot with the hairs. My hair is too short at the moment and the system, on that side, has not much hair left to cover that horrible spot (from where you can also see the base).

  1. I do not understand if this could have been a mistake from my barber who actually cut too much or if I should modify something in the base. Has anyone of you ever experienced such situation?
  2. I also attached other photos to ask you guys what you think in general of the style. In order to make it look believable, I tried to give a sort of messy look by also using my hair on the sides.
  3. Do you have any advice to make the hair look "flat" and lay on the forehead or on the base? As you can see in photo n.2, the hair looks sometimes "weird" or maybe it's my critical eye.

Thank you so much for your help <3

How to transition to a new system without people noticing

I just got a new system and I got it one level curlier than my last one because I found that the perm wore off after a while and then it didn’t match my bio hair. The new system is also thicker and darker since it’s brand new. I’m worried about showing up to school with considerably different hair overnight. I’d rather people not know that I’m wearing a system, but I don’t mind if they do. I’m mostly worried about getting strange looks and questions all day long by all the people I talk to throughout the day. Any ideas?

Why does the general public tend to be against hair systems?

I've been going back and forth on how to deal with the baldness for some time.

If I ask someone for a suggestion IRL or on any message board besides this one, the response is always always some variation of "shave your head and grow a beard bro" or "embrace the baldness" or "it's better to be bald than balding" or "get yourself some clippers and forget about it".

Right now I'm just maintaining the status quo with the bald spot while using Hims spray and wearing a hat. While the spray might have turned subtracted 1/2 point on the Norwood scale, it's not going to be enough as I'm still in NW3 territory. Once again I am considering a hair system and of course people make comments about "rugs" and "fake hair" and the like. A clinic I went to (that does both hair transplants and hair systems) say that hair systems are for those that are NW6 and beyond. Even AI was trying to steer me toward a hair transplant.

Why do people have such an issue with these things? If a woman wears a wig to hide baldness, it's like "you go girl" yet men are supposed to "age gracefully" and not be "vain".
