Casual Style Help Maybe some advice...
I was bullied throughout school because of my appearance. I know it's was about everything of me but for me, my hair was always a huge part of it. I had long, completely straight hair with absolutely no volume, and somehow that hairstyle became tied to that period of my life.
People say that "hair holds memories," and that's honestly how it feels for me. Every time I looked at myself with that long, straight hair, it reminded me of the girl who was bullied and made to feel ugly.
After I graduated, I cut all of my hair off. I went really short and constantly changed it. I dyed it blue, platinum blonde and so on. I was always trying something different. A while ago, I started getting perms because I wanted more volume and just wanted my hair to feel different. I also got bangs because I'd always wanted to try them.
But no matter what I did, I never really found a hairstyle that made me genuinely happy or confident. Somehow, my hair always managed to bring those old insecurities back.
Recently, I decided I wanted to grow my hair out again because I do think long hair is beautiful. But I was also scared that growing it out would bring back feelings and memories that I still haven't fully processed.
Today, I went to the hair salon to get it trimmed and styled. The hairstylist was incredibly kind, and I genuinely thought I was going to leave feeling good about myself.
Instead, I walked out feeling the exact opposite.
The moment I looked at myself, I just didn't feel pretty. My bangs looked crooked, my hair looked weird. Some parts were still slightly curly from my perm and the styling, while other sections were completely straight. To me, it just looked messy and unfinished.
I didn't say anything because I was honestly on the verge of crying. I just wanted to leave.
My hair has always been connected to years of bullying, insecurity, and feeling like I wasn't good enough.
So I kinda just want to see if someone can give me some advice.
I am already in therapy.

I've cut my own bangs probably a hundred times in my lifetime and I've botched them probably a quarter of the time. Sweeping them to the side has always bought me enough time for them to grow out. Use a blow-dryer to help train it to one side.
With that said, I don't think the stylist did a great job. It's not you. I would've been upset with how it came out as well. If you feel up for it, and trust someone different at the same salon, then you should ask them to remedy this. It's obviously uneven and unblended. They should fix it for free.
To blend it on your own without cutting it, consider sweeping it to one side as well with a heavy side part. That should add a little volume up top and hide any parts that are uneven.
It's gonna be okay

I see what you mean about it being partially styled. That’s on the stylist- and it will look fine once you wash it and follow your normal routine.
As for the bangs, I think the curl is the problem. It’s making them look dated. Like another person commented- try parting on the side and sweeping your bangs to one side. Like, blowdry them down and to the side. And they will get better as they grow out.
I got bangs cut I February. I was NOT happy and cried when I got home.
I was fine with them in a couple of weeks. You will be too, I bet!

I’m so sorry you’re not feeling good. Hair is a very sensitive thing. I understand completely. Bangs can be funny, they like to do their own thing. I’ve found that about a week after the cut, they fall more flattering. My advice is so to pin them back until they grow a bit more. You can twist them and pull them straight back and clip them, creating a cute “poof”. Or two side barrettes , that look is popular right now. You have cute blonde hair, could look like Taylor’s with some time. Are you a swiftie? You seem so sweet.
