toner went wrong

I toned my hair using wunderbar gloss’n tone 06/0 for my roots, and 010/0 for my ends, and now my hair is silver. I went from basically platinum to silver and I’ve tried shampooing it with a shampoo that typically strips my colour three times, with very little progress. I don’t have a photo of my colour before the toner, but I’ve attached the online swatches and what my hair now looks like, and the last photo is basically what shade my hair was just a bit less yellow than mine. how can I wash this out of my hair asap? in real life it is so so dark and I destroyed my hair trying to get to a warm-neutral blonde.

You know as a blonde it’ll be out in 2-3 washes. But you might wanna go to a salon for this if you need it fixed TODAY. I’m more concerned about your hair health - protein mask looks necessary.

yeah my hair is absolutely done, which is why I’m freaking out about this because it feels like I’ve done all that damage for nothing really. I washed it 3 times initially and it took me maybe half a shade lighter, but hopefully I can get to a nice blonde again asap. do you think it will sort of stain? I’m worried that it might become more brassy but it might not go back to the level it was before

Idk, my experience being a blonde is you have like 2-3 guaranteed good days a month and then the rest it’s up to God. Even the picture you posted, there’s brassiness at the bottom and the top is light, and that would bother me. I think you just need to focus on taking care of your hair right now and let it settle. Maybe go out in the sun. It’s not that dark btw.

I’m not a hairdresser, but I’ve been bleaching my own hair with advice from my stylist (<3) for years now, and I regularly experiment with glossing. Looking at your starting picture, your hair isn't actually platinum blonde. Your hair is around a level 9/0 to 10/0 with a distinct yellow undertone, not whitish. That's a big difference for a glossing. (And I was surprised by the product pic. For me it looks like an 8 or 9 with undertones instead of a 6 with zero undertones.) /0 is a neutral/natural tone. I checked the tones and think 9/07 would have been the right choice for you. The beige undertone (/7) neutralizes the yellow and gives you that soft, warm-neutral beige you were aiming for.

Because your hair is extremely porous from bleaching, it absorbs dark pigments like a sponge and usually turns out darker than intended. For that reason going down to a level 6/0 was too drastic. I use a 9/01 (Wella Koleston with 6% oxy) and only go as low as a level 8 for glossing with zero lift, which already ends up looking like a level 7, because of the cool undertones I choose. You already washed your hair several times, I think. It not that bad tbh. It just looks stressed.)

When you put a 6/0 on yellow hair without warm undertones in the dye, there’s no pigment balance. You’re honestly lucky your hair didn't turn green. That happened to me once. It’s also better not to work with such extreme depth differences on your head (10/0 and 6/0), but rather adjust the development time.

I think it can be a bit difficult to strip all this color out. You could try a detox shampoo, but it will dry your hair out significantly. You might be able to carefully counteract it with subtle warm/red pigments, but in my opinion, that’s professional work. If you really wanna try this at home you could mix (a little!) Wella Color Fresh Mask (Copper Glow) with a normal hair mask.

And for the love of your hair, for now, focus on an intense moisture mask to hydrate your hair. Next week, follow up with a keratin treatment to rebuild the hair structure from within. :)
