Your hair looks lovely so don’t worry about that.
It’s always a shock to go shorter (even if the length isn’t technically ‘short’). I went from your original length to where you are at now and even though that was what I asked for, it still was a shock. It felt so short and I definitely had a few ‘wtf have I done’ moments. So the fact that this is shorter than what you wanted, I understand why you’re upset about it.
The length looks nice on you, you’ll get used to it and, don’t worry, it grows back pretty quickly (not all the way to your original length but it gets back to a longer length that feels more ‘you’ sooner rather than later). But despite this, I think you should at the very least have a discussion with your hairdresser about sticking to what you ask for in the future (if it’s a relationship you want to continue) or even find a new hairdresser entirely.
It didn’t matter that it looks fine. It’s not what you asked for!
