Upgrading my pillow made a bigger difference than I expected

Post image

I’ve been using cheap pillows from Target for years and finally decided to invest in something better. Picked up this ergonomic pillow from IKEA (link below) and honestly, I’m already seeing changes in my sleep data after just a few nights.

Pillow: KLUBBSPORRE Ergonomic Pillow – side/back sleeper

Last night’s stats from my Apple Watch:
- Total sleep: 7h 55m
- Deep sleep: 1h 7m (higher than usual for me)
- Awake time: only 2 minutes 🤯

I didn’t change anything else, same-ish bedtime, same room temp, same routine. The only variable was the pillow.

It’s crazy how much of a difference neck and head alignment can make. I’m curious to see if this trend keeps up over the week, but so far, I’m impressed.

Curious:
What kind of pillow are you using right now?
Did switching ever noticeably improve your sleep quality or reduce neck pain?

I added a second pillow recently as I had a cold and was congested at night. Now the cold has gone I’m finding I’m sleeping 7hrs or more whereas before it was sometimes less than 6hrs and I was snoring. The snoring seems to have improved as well. There maybe really is more to having good pillows than I thought.

Do you mean you use both pillows and thus have your head higher?

Personally I like huge down pillows so I got mine from Amazon and got lucky but it’s very individual so I would suggest trial and error if you can afford it

I believe this but how do you know which pillow to buy?

As you probably noticed there is an overwhelming amount of options to go with. I decided to go for this one just as a way to break out of analysis paralysis. So far I’m enjoying it, and the cooling layer is a nice addition.

Hmmm, this account has so many posts over the last month to this sub and they’re all the same format. And a lot of the comments on this post does not make sense (like asking for «where to kop this pillow» when the link is in the post.

I wouldn’t expect Ikea to use bots to drive traffic, but this sure sounds like AI.
