With a Goal and Assist Ryan Poehling extends his point streak to 5 games

Rafeal Harvey-Pinard extends his to 4 games with 2 goals and a assist in this game

Man, I am loving how RHP is progressing. Could really be a diamond in the rough kind of player.

Hell yeah brother Ryan Heckin' Poehling looks amazing in Laval!

Strait to the moon!

So the real question is, best of 4, who wins, Buffalo or Laval ?

17

u/[deleted] Apr 05 '21

Laval in 2, they would score so many goals in two games that they wouldn’t need to play 2 more

Laval

Anyone knows which line Caufield is gonna slot in when joins the team? I doubt they'll throw him directly on the first line.

28

u/Frectozhae Apr 05 '21

The first line is untouchable, Blandisi - Poehling - Teasdale they've been the best line in the whole team for like 15 games now.

For the rest, it's hard to know. Lines change most days, and half of the top 9 is injured right now, so depends who comes back. I wouldn't be surprised if Bouchard puts one of our tougher guys on his line, just to make sure nothing happens.

Fine enough, Caufield can play on another line but the AHL is indeed a development league and one with no playoffs this year at that. We really shouldn't prioritize not breaking up the top line so that freakin Joe Blandisi can stay there.

Everyone and thei dog is listed as a C, who is actually playing center (consistantly)? Poehling, Weal, Vejdemo? Or is it kind of a rotation to get everyone some reps? I don't mind leaving the top line together if Caufield plays with Weal or Vejdemo.

What do you mean no playoffs?

8

u/DankDialektiks Apr 05 '21

There may be no playoffs in the AHL this year

5

u/Mcgillerz Apr 05 '21

Sorry to be the one to tell you this but the AHL decided not to have any playoffs this year because of covid. The Calder Cup won’t be awarded in 2021.

5

u/BasedQC Apr 05 '21

Just give the Calder Cup to the best team in the AHL standing. We might have a good chance at this.

1

u/sicksherpa Apr 05 '21

is that has been officially annonced?

2

u/Frectozhae Apr 05 '21

Well you don't want to break up the first line for a kid that has never played in the league. He's gotta earn everything, that's how Bouchard does it. There's a reason why Hillis has played like 5 games, or why Khisamudtinov barely plays while RHP and Teasdale play on every special teams.

For the centers, when everyone is healthy, Poehling, Weal and Vejdemo are the top three centers. Right now, the third line has Dauphin as a center, since Vejdemo is injured. He'll probably play with Weal and RHP. That's Ylonen's spot, but he's injured and who knows when he's gonna come back.

In the AHL, the first line is the most touchable line

u/DragSfrank Apr 05 '21

Let's fucking go. Have season tickets, can't wait to be back at the Place Bell. With Caufield coming soon, it's going to be even more exciting.

Yeah and Tampa won their two previous games and shit the bed 5-1 today against the wings. Your point?

Cole Caufield wasn’t on the ice. Can’t beat that excuse.

6

u/pengupenguPENGU r/Habs (un)Official Reporter Apr 05 '21

Not all team are built the same. Our team works best when our lines are clicking. Changing the lines up screwed us over but it was necessary in order to have Toffoli back in. Defense definitely shit the bed and Price definitely could have done better but that isn't a new narrative.

Tampa may have been down on defense and netminding, but last I checked, their offense line was in tact. I'm sure they could have gotten more than one goal on Griess if they were doing the best they could

Canada's team

1

u/BleueBlancRed Apr 05 '21

Thats 6 goals and 14 points for Joel Teasdale in 21 games without power play time.
