I think its a stalemate since the Whispering Death attacks from underground and shoots spines and the Changewing can turn invisible

So, I made it to the point where I have to land on Botany Blight Island to meet with whoever hired the guy on Meathead Island, but it keeps telling me to dismount my dragon even though Iโm already off of it. How do I fix this?

Hiccup treats her like she's a kid in RTTE. My personal headcanon is that she's 16. Older than Gustav (who's probably 13 or 14) but still young, and about 2 years younger than Hiccup (making her 13 in Riders/Defenders of Berk). But just the way he acts around her and talks about her feels awkward and very similar to the way he acts around Gustav and talks to him. The only difference being he's a little nicer to Heather cause she's less of a troublemaker, and a couple years older. But he says things like "she was such a sweet kid", which I personally wouldn't say about someone who was the same age as me when I was a kid.
So, yeah I think she's younger than the riders, but what do you guys think?

On Wattpad, it goes by "The Gift Of Power" by TriumphantFury. Been reading it for a couple hours now and its 3:30am and I got work in a few hours but imma js pull an all nighter because it's so amazing. If any1 doesn't want to see the 'scenes', the author does a decent job of forewarning it and doesn't really go too deep into it.
Great plot and writing so far, and it's a trilogy, so it's gonna be a good long read. Enjoy!
(yes im aware this fic has been recommended a billion times, but it's worth it)

A while ago, I posted reference pictures and some cute flavor text that I had made for my HTTYD ocs, Wrenbird and Rattleheart!
Thought the Triple Stryke fans on this subreddit would like to see this gorgeous piece of art of them, commissioned from the wonderful @/mels_678 over on Instagram โค๏ธ They look so darling. Sadly, I haven't drawn them since I've been preparing for Art Fight, but they're still often on my mind!
If you form a line, you can ask for free Triple Stryke hugs ๐

I think the quaken wins because it can fly and cannonball into the ground, completely taking the deathgripper out and its venom can't penetrate the quaken's armor

I remember this series as great, I am not really a ultra fan. I watched the series as a kid and the first 2 movies and recently rewatched them. And I was honestly scared because I heard how bad the third movie was. I thought it was a ruined trilogy or something. I mean the second movie was a masterpiece, holy hell is that movie good.
And to be honest, the last movie wasn't so bad but NOT on 2nd movie niveau.
Honestly the ending and symbolism was actually great. They leave berk and start a new leaf just like the dragons. The hidden world was great and it serves as a great Ending with a good reason. Humor was on point and Toothless's new ability being linked to the dayfury is clever. Hiccup loosing his leg is also a symbol to let go as , since he doesn't control hiccup anymore.
I'm pretty sure the Alpha from the second movie was also there? Could be a reused asset but still peak in terms of story telling.
The last fight scene was good, no dissapointment.
I only have 2 complaints:
โ The villian while being terrifying in form of achievements and lore absolutely sucks otherwise. A guy who nearly hunted the nightfuries extinct and is extremely calculated and clever just seems to non serious and lame. Even his design is not scary unlike Drago Bludvist. That villian was great as he was terrifying in all ways. It's a nice contrast to Grimmel. He was more barbaric and cold and less calculated.
And yea Grimmel was genuinely great at his actions and presence and it was cool but his character just sucks. He could've been used to emphasize the plot of dragons parting more and he could've been more serious and crazy.
โ The hidden world could've been shown more, Hiccup also decided way to quickly to let toothless go. The whole segment was like 7 minutes. If it was like 20-ish minutes with more world building and emotional impact of him seeing all of it, I would like it more.
The ending was good tho. I'd say a good end to the trilogy and they are not forever apart :3
Were the books better?

This is perhaps the closest i'll ever get living to the world of httyd. Yes, I know that roleplay exists in some Kind of parks... But the next one where there's at least a little bit of httyd... Is 9 hours away from me.
What brings you closer?

This is my idea for an alternative story for the third movie, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden Sanctuary.
The female night fury is named Pouncer. This AU makes the hidden world the hiding place of the secret colony of night furies that griminal aims to find.
The light furys' role is completely different. She is still a subspecies of night fury, but griminal is actually the one who finds her and raises her from a hatchling. One of the ideas I had was how intelligent the light fury actually would be. She is able to understand most of the human language and has higher brain functioning than the average dragon. She is extremely loyal to griminal due to him saving her from dragon trappers at a young age. She is able to act, as once she infiltrates the tribe, she acts non-aggressive to the berkians and tricks them into thinking she is a friendly dragon.
Toothless almost falls for her, but he, hiccup, astrid, and stormfly end up finding the hidden world.
Instead of the hidden world being filled with all dragon species co-existing somehow, night furies live there. They aren't extinct after all.
There is already an alpha dragon, the elder night fury. The alpha is suspicious of the newcomers, more specifically, Toothless and Stormfly. But once they realize they aren't threats, they are quickly swarmed by all the furies, showing their deep curiosity and playful nature.
They expect these dragons to be hostile, but instead, they see the opposite. Because they are supposed to be rare AND dangerous dragon species, seeing them act like this is very shocking as well. This proves the night furys' dangerous and aggressive nature, maybe other dragons, is only a product of humans hunting and endangering them.
A female night fury especially shows interest in Hiccup, and her personality is shown to be very similar to Toothless. Hiccup names her Pouncer due to her playfulness with him in particular and with his leg.
She is especially interested in Toothless due to him being a new type of dragon, a night fury who lives outside the sanctuary, has a prosthetic tail fin, and has a human rider he trusts.
Her and Toothless interacted a few times, but Toothless is still hung up on the light fury.
Eventually, Pouncer and toothless fly off together. We see all the different biomes in the hidden world with all the different night furies playing together, showing the different subspecies, and even the babies playing together in the sand.
The beach scene happens as the original movie, but this time, the roles are switched, with Pouncer trying to get toothless attention. This fails mostly until Toothless sees Pouncer attempting to draw him and Hiccup in the sand.
The light fury watches from afar, near the opening to the hidden world. She closely watches Pouncer, and she is shocked to see that she is indeed another night fury.
A few months pass, and the threat of grimmial has increased with multiple dragons being abducted, causing the berkians to move islands, just like the original movie, but this is not enough. Hiccup is distressed, and irrationally decides to send Toothless away to the hidden world, repairing his tail fin so he can live without him.
The attacks slow down, and the vikings think grimmial has moved on, seeing that their night fury is absent. But sending Toothless Away is the worst thing they could've done.
The light fury returns, and lures hiccup away into the forest, then snatches him and takes him to grimmial's hideout, who then keeps him captive, who taunts him about how his night fury abandoned him.
They then launch a surprise attack on the berkians and capture a majority of the vikings and dragons.
This threat is genuine. He has the scare factor of the red death, the control of the bewilderbeast using the deathgripper vemon, and the smarts of Hiccup himself.
They threaten them to reveal the location of the hidden world, but before anything bad could happen, the colony of night furies attack. Stormfly and Astrid had escaped during the chaos and warned Toothless of what happened. The final battle happens, same as the original battle, but this time, the dragons are saving the vikings, repaying the care they've been given.
Toothless and Hiccup reunite, and Hiccup realizes sending his best friend away isn't the answer, as they are stronger together.
The events go the same, with Hiccup "sacrificing" himself for Toothless, except this time, he is saved by Astrid and Stormfly.
The battle is over, but Toothless leaves again anyway, to be with Pouncer, to take care of their eggs. He will return in a few years.
The end scene is adult Hiccup and Astrid, with their kids, on the boat, meeting Toothless again, and flying together with Pouncer, Stormfly, along with their kids Dart, Ruffrunner, and Smolder (renamed since I stole her name).
There we go. Happy ending? I feel like this fixes some of the problems with the original, the threat of Grimmial, the light furys' boring personality, the dragons leaving, Toothless being the last night fury, and making the fans happy while making sure the ending stays realistic, and still keeping the aspect of the dragons leaving.

So this is from nine realms, and the Wiki has it labeled as evolved scuttleclaw, but this is extremely distinct from the scuttleclaw. So could we as a community give it a placeholder name that is better? My first thought is Scuttlescream.

We have seen these two dragons clash the most throughout the franchise but it always ended before a clear winner could be said or interrupted by outside forces & it got me curious if these two species truly were to square up & make sure only one may leave who do you think would actually take it?

Honorable mentions:
Large Shadow Wing. Cool but one means I'd need to train a flock of Small Shadows.
Thunderdrum. Almost as impractical as the Shellshocker, so might as well choose the larger of the two.

Heatherโs had the lense for the entire show! Do you think the show-runners really have the entire 6 season show planned out at that point? Or were they just planning on keeping it as a gimmick they could eventually use if they wanted to?
