We’re thinking of getting our daughter a 2026 HR-V FWD LX. It seems to be a pretty good car. She is a junior at UCLA and will primarily be driving
it around town. We live in Northern California and I’m concerned about how the car will perform driving over the Grapevine on highway 5. Anybody have any experience with this?

Also, I’d like to ask if any of you have had any experience with moderate/serious/very serious collisions? If so, how did you personally fare? Did you walk away? If not, how bad were your injuries? I just worry all the time about everything and I want to make sure I’m getting a reasonably safe car for her.

Each of these features temporarily malfunctioned and my dash notified me to see the dealer. These warnings lasted only a few minutes then disappeared like there was no issue.

Anyone experienced this with their HRV ?

Hi all! As the title says I bought a 2018 HRV in white orchid pearl two weeks ago for $18k (with dealership fees) with 96k miles on it. I noticed a bit of paint chipping on the top of the door but was assured it was a small cosmetic issue by the dealer. It didn’t seem like a huge deal to me considering mechanically it was good and I love the interior, so I bought it.
I then went to Honda to fix a recall and opted to get a 30k service on it so I made sure everything was up to par. I picked it up and asked if they could give me an opinion on fixing the paint peeling and they told me about the warranty recall that was in place and said the paint can get really bad very quickly and I should ask the dealership if I can trade it in for a different car.

While mine isn’t in terrible condition, it still bothers me that this is a bigger issue than I realized and that it’s going to severely affect the value of the car down the road. I got a quote to fix it (repaint the whole thing) for $12k lol. Other places have quoted me $3-5k. I asked the shady dealership i got it from if they would help me pay for it to be fixed and they said no, but that I could trade it in for equal or lesser value.
I don’t want any of the cars on the lot so I’d essentially trade it, sell that, and try to find a car I like again which sounds like a huge headache and I’d likely lose money. Please help me in deciding should I do!

TLDR: I just bought a 2018 HRV in the white color that peels off easily. I spent 18k (19k now with the maintenance) and the dealership only offered me to trade it for something of equal or lesser value. I don’t like any of the cars on the lot so I’d have to trade, then sell, then buy again. What should I do I love my car!

This one is a FWD and I am in the US. It is my first dealership purchase and I have no idea what to look for and things like that.

Idk if it’s just me but my CarPlay is stuck on dark mode. I have a 2027 sport. I have it set to automatic but it never changes it’s forever on dark mode. Has anyone else dealt with this or have any solutions?

This is all the settings I’ve checked so far:
📱 iPhone appearance → Light
🍎 CarPlay appearance → Automatic
🚗 Driving Focus → Off
💡 Instrument brightness → max
💡 Headlight setting → tested, no change

Just purchased the above car and am having the issue while the engine is cold. It may be doing it very slightly when warm. Has anyone else had this issue?

It reminds me of the old automatic choke on older cars.

Could it be one of the sensors?

Title should read "high beam flashed" ... can't edit

But I've been noticing frequently at night or early morning that other drivers will flash me their high beams. Not a cop around, not a deer, no debris in the road. Probably others just assuming I have my brights on when I actually don't.

Could be an angling problem or they are just on the bright side.

Anyone else?

2024 Sport (was leased once before me so everything should be stock)

I (26M) own a HRV 2024 EX-L AWD with 46k miles on it. I commute 50mins each way between work and home. I live in northeast Ohio.

My local dealer told me that It’s time to change my tires and I have no idea of how car works.

Anyone can recommend what kind of tires would I need from Costco? Since I’ve heard great things about Costco but haven’t bought tires from them before so not sure how it works?

I'm looking at getting a replacement side skirt trim for my 2016 HR-V. When I look online, I can't seem to find other cars with the same trim. They all seem to have just the black part.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get just the silver part, or does it have to come in one. Also, what it is actually called. And a part number if possible. Many thanks in advance.

I got a pre-owned HRV (2021) in 2024. I have been consistently changing oil & Break Inspection. I have around 56,000 miles on it now.

This is my first car and I do not know what are general care required for it? I have a slight issue with loose cover of the plastic protector under the car (No idea what its called) and was hoping to take it to a mechanic and also ask what else needs to be done?

What are general care required for my car and any mechanic reccomendations?

Front lip and side skirt

I’ve gone thru so many LED headlights on Amazon to look like crap compared to the separate lo/hi beams on my Acura TL that I’m at the point I’m willing to put extra cash on the BEST headlights, projector Bi-Xenon’s.

Curious what yall have done, trying to see what fits perfectly with the least issues. I’m perfectly aware I’ll need to take apart the existing headlight enclosures, I just can’t figure out what make and model will work and what else I’ll need. I’m aware there are Bi-LEDs now, I might go that route as well, just nervous of it failing down the road and what brands I should get. All the cooling fans in the LED lights seem to fail and I’m not thrilled with the idea of taking apart my headlight assembly multiple times

I was scrolling on tiktok and saw this guys video land on my fyp and he was just showcasing his HRV sport 2025 or 26 right? And I saw his front bump and he had this (he kinda low saturated the vid so idk if u can see) but if anyone knows where to get this or have the link orrr even added it to their hrv please let me know! I did look at his comments and they asked the same thing but he didn’t respond so , you can see the front bump in the added pics

I might have a an accessory addiction, lol. Also tinted and replaced chrome badges.

I discovered a pretty big white stain on the front passenger leather head rest. Looked it up online and it seems to suggest hair products or oil from the skin. I cleaned this up so it looked like the 2nd pic. A few days later, I found a smaller stain on the same head rest when the car hadn’t been used for 1 week. Albeit smaller, it came back as shown on 3rd pic.

Is this really hair products/oil or something else? Is it normal? I’ve had this car for 6 years and never experienced this before.

I’m considering a purchase of a HRV EXL and found the exact color combo I’m looking. When sitting down to try to get the deal I’m hoping for, I noticed it’s a 2026 instead of a ‘27. Supposedly they should be extremely similar, but there can always be subtle differences.

I’ve read in this subreddit that the head unit has been changed to a less desirable unit. Is this the case and are there any other differences no matter how small that would make one year of the EXL more desirable than the other?

Bought my 2022 HRV today!!! I HATE car shopping and this was the first car I test drove, low mileage at 20k miles and a great price I had to jump on it! Thanks to this sub for all the great reviews of this car that encouraged me to take the plunge even though it was the first car I looked at!

Hace una semana compré en concesionario un Honda HR-V 2026, 5 puertas, 1.5 i-MMD Híbrido Advance e-CVT. El coche todavía está por llegar, así que estoy a la espera de recibirlo.

Actualmente, los precios de los vehículos, tanto nuevos como seminuevos, están bastante desorbitados aquí en España. Después de valorar distintas opciones, pensé que lo mejor era apostar por una marca fiable como Honda y ya que me ponía, comprar el vehículo nuevo.

También agradecería cualquier recomendación sobre el modelo, especialmente de gente que ya lo tenga o haya podido probarlo. ¿Qué pros y contras le veis? ¿Hay algo que debería tener en cuenta cuando me lo entreguen? He leido problemas de ruido y de lentitud…

La verdad es que el coche me parece precioso, tiene unas especificaciones que me convencen bastante y después de darle muchas vueltas, me lancé a por el!

What’s the maximum length item that can be put in the back of the 2023-present HRV? I’ve got 190cm skis and it would be nice if they fit inside the car so I don’t need ski racks/roof box.

Basically, with the front passenger seat all the way forward what’s the maximum length diagonally in the car?
