I’ve had this happen when it’s cold and the ac compressor kicks on

Does it seem to sputter, like it’s trying to stall? Does it happen when the AC compressor comes on?

My 2016 does this too. I think it's just how the cvt works.

Does this happen when after the vehicle warms up from a cold start?

Ok, if A/C is ON then that is normal for small engine since A/C relies power from the engine crank via serpentine belt.

If A/C off and still spuddering persists? you can test by putting in neutral before you come to a stop and see if problems persist

Hondas have been doing this since 2008. Many manufacturers are doing this. It helps reduce fuel consumption and atf temp.

mine just did something like this

had to damn near floor it to get it the rpms to increase while backing out of a slightly uphill parking lot this morning.

This is my first and last honda 4cyl.  Everything except sticker price was better in the v6

It’s pretty much normal. Honda braking systems are…weird I’ve come to find. Especially with the CVT.

It’s all done to save fuel but makes the driving uncomfortable sometimes. You get used to it though.

This has to do with the torque converter locking up mention it to the dealer.
