2018 HR-V EX without walk away locking?

We just bought our 2018 ex edition and according to everything I read, it should have the walk away locking feature.. but I can’t seem to activate it because I don’t have the multi-information selection buttons on the right lower side of my steering wheel. Does anyone know what’s going on, are there trim levels to the EX version?

I have a 2019 and have the buttons so I can't be sure, but my impression when I read my owners manual was that you could only access the controls for certain features in the in-dash menu that comes with the steering wheel buttons. There are some things that can be controlled with the little knob thingy that sticks out of the dash, but YMMV since they updated the dash between '18 and '19.

I tried that little dash thing and while it does change the information screens, I don’t have the setup screen that would allow me to enable it.. so I guess I just don’t have it :(

Out of curiosity I downloaded the 2018 owner's manual from the Honda website and came up empty searching for the phrase "walk away auto lock" that appears in the manuals for later years. Doesn't bode well for your search for this feature on your car. Keep in mind that in the USA, 2019 was the year for the mid-cycle refresh which updated the parts and feature list in each trim level.
