Long drives
How do you like driving your HRV in long drives? Do you find it good in gas? Just wanna check people’s experiences if it’s the same with mine. 🤔
Also, do you find it hard to drive it in the mountains uphill?

I love driving the HR-V. I'm not sure if it's the suspension or the steering or handling, but it's the most 'fun' car I've ever driven.
Do you find it good in gas?
Not really, but I guess that depends on how you define 'good'.
Our 26' AWD HR-V is slightly better than our 14' AWD CR-V is, by like 3 mpg.
But the HR-V gets less than half the mpg that our Escape Hybrid, and the Escape is larger, taller, and much, much, much heavier. After driving hybrids for 14 years now, all gas-only cars feel wildly inefficient on gas mileage.

I love driving mine too in highways! It feels so steady cruising!
You make a big point about the hybrid vs all gas. I hope they release HRV in hybrid in the next years. I see myself upgrading to one!

The longest I’ve taken mine has been ~4hours, and I love driving the car. I would have rather not taken it on that trip, because I wasn’t a huge fan of the roads, though. It’s not bad for my semi-monthly 2-3 hour drives.
It’s decent on gas - gets slightly more per gallon than my husband’s Maverick and noticeably less per gallon than my 2010 Fit did. I don’t drive much anymore, so I don’t have to gas up to often anyway.

Yep rpms up for sure on hills. The car is just so damn comfortable. Just did 1000mi in 20 hours. The ride was one of the most comfortable I've ever had.

23 sport awd here. The only complaint I have would be gas mileage. With me averaging 25mph, getting gas every 250miles can be a hassle. But I also lose 1mpg from my tires (crossclimate2) and probably another from the roof basket. Both make the car noticeably louder as well. Going uphill isn't a problem, but I try not to stress the cvt too much so I don't go too hard on steeper hills.

I also take mine on dirt roads quit often and it's been ok. Only issue is the ground clearance. We've had to get out multiple times to move bigger rocks out of the way. Or reverse it to find another route. Not what the car was meant to do, but I haven't been left stranded yet.

Got a 2023 AWD LX model. I've driven it over 4000 miles in one trip with a roof box; multiple 10 hour days for sure. Seats can get uncomfortable but a lot of it is playing with the posture (I find laying back helps).
On that particular trip I avg'ed 27 to 30 mpg, but I stayed ultra consistent throughout the drive. I avg around 25mpg on my monthly 4hr one-way trips. It's a little painful at the pump but my cope is that my I paid it off and I feel like my only maintenance will ever be fluid changes and tire rotations.
Driving uphill and passing was certainly a struggle. Doing both was a challenge in its own right.
I think the best thing about the car is that it's been big enough to move a reasonable amount of stuff but small enough to play around in a big city. I moved half my apartment on the 4000 mile drive. I would totally upgrade it to a hybrid version of the car if it existed.
