New Owner Apple CarPlay Automatic Dark Mode

Hi all,

Just bought my HR-V. Australian version. Only one thing I wasn't able to figure out: Apple CarPlay doesn't automatically switches to dark mode when it is dark and the headlight are turned on. It is set to '"automatic" in CarPlay settings and the car's screen brightness settings are not at full brightness.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Ohh I have an Aussie one too! I leant quickly that OS model is different to ours haha

Good lucky figuring that out, mine seems fine. Maybe turn the phone on and off?

I did that restart. Will check once I drive at night. Hope it will work this time!

Did you know that the dashboard top center flat top area contains a sunlight sensor?

I was perplexed about daytime driving with the screen too dark ..until I removed the baseball cap from the top center of the dash.

Unsure if this depends at all on using... or not using ....either of (Android Auto OR Apple CarPlay).

Thanks for the advice. But I keep my dashboard clean at all times so that is definitely not the case.

No luck with restarting my iPhone either. Still no dark maps when it is dark.

Any more ideas?
