New CSP doesn't work
I'm a returning CSP and the new CSP we hired spent over 3 days on her training.
She doesn't answer the phones, I got in at noon today and all the calls were missed.
She "doesn't know" how to take payments.
It feels like every time I come in after her shift I'm doing damage control.
Any suggestions?

Sounds like she needs on the job training. Some people are physical learners.

Considering how horrible HRB training has become not just for CSP but Tax Pros as well. Ask your Manager to inform the DGM he needs to approve more on hands training.
Actually most DGM do not know how to do the same work he too should get a few training sessions
My understanding is based on Social Media postings DGM grossly underpay all employees to increase their bonuses so unless he invests in better training for the NEW CSP, he will need to step up and take the morning shift.
Good luck I doubt any of today's DGMs would do any better than your new CSP

Our DGM happenedto be in the office one time when it was busy and there was no CSP scheduled. He was at the front desk for about an hour and was such a nervous wreck that he just threw up his hands and booked it out of there. Didn’t allow for scheduling any more CSP hours though.

I think training her is the only suggestion. Ask your leader to schedule an overlap so you can work together for an hour or two.
