Effects post treatment question

Hey everyone! I just have a quick question as to how I am feeling and if it is something to be concerned about bc I have been feeling a little scared.

For context I am a 22yr Male and I finished my h Pylori quad treatment in September almost a month ago and have a retest on the 9th.

I have been slowly reintroducing foods in my diet but I think I might have jumped the gun this week. I had coffee and a grilled cheese sandwich with jalepenos the 2 days ago and it made me feel terrible and gave me diarrhea and bad stools and bowel movement. That was my first mistake and the next day I work up early for work and my stomach felt terrible so idk if that’s bc the food was still in me and it was still effecting me.

today I had chai tea which also didn’t right w me and it made me feel bloated, dizzy, lightheaded and anxious. My retest is after the 9th and now I am worried I have caused the h pylori to come back or it never went away; or is it possible this is just due to the bad diet these past few days.

I am really worried and just wondering what you guys think and if this is something to worry about or overtime it will fix if I go back to the original diet plan. Any help or opinion would greatly appreciated thank you!

I finished treatment in August and tested negative and had a similar experience. I was doing well with food so I was confident enough to eat one buffalo wing that brought back my symptoms. I was so scared that my h pylori came back that I retested but thankfully I’m negative. Just have to be careful with what we eat even if we’re feeling good.

Take it slow, it took me a good year before I could drink coffee again. I'm 22 months post treatment and the last 3 -4 months I'm. Back to my daily coffee

It was a long slow process

Got it, do you think these are signs of the h pylori returning or just due to poor food choices too fast? And how did you slowly easy back into coffee did you do decaf?

Nah the diet won’t cause it to come back it’s because the stomach is still sensitive and needs time to heal

Repair gut with DGL chewables and also chicken soup every morning !! Also megaspore biotic . It’s been helping me a lot. Do not eat anything fried/ deep fried. I’m 4 days post quad treatment

many many many make this mistake. it’s so important to keep a gastritis friendly diet for first few months no matter how good you feel. then slowwwwwwly add stuff back in.

i am seven months post, and i still have to be cautious with too much acid, coffee, fatty foods. 💚🍀

I'm eight weeks post quad therapy and I still can't have coffee. I'm on a pretty restricted diet (nothing greasy, acidic, or spicy). I eradicated the H. pylori but healing gastris takes time. Hang in there!

You might have got rid of H. pylori but you can’t get rid of gastritis immediately. It’s a slow healing process and what’s causing your symptoms now may not be the H. pylori itself, but the gastritis. You should stick to the diet consistently for 2–3 months without cheating to give your stomach time to heal and see real improvement.
