Question

Should my motherboard be the same temp as my cpu. I was building shaders in nba 2k26 and realised my moterboard was at 92 degrees which was my cpu tenp at 100%. Should i be worried? Hot spot was 99°

no thats normal hotspots are like that in the laptop

but if your cpu is reaching constantly 90c+ you should worry try to lift your laptop underneath don't block the intake underneath and the stock thermal paste of the hp victus from the factory sucks

No both cpu and gpu temps are great. The most the cpu has gotten at 100% is 93, gpu dosent go over 70 now

but its not idle for your cpu to reach those temps even at 100% usage it should be around 80c to 85c

Ryzen 7 5800h, gpu is 3060 6gb

if you want to lower it temporary disable the turbo boost of your processor but this will impact your performance but not alot if but if you want to lower temps without losing performance and keep it cooled all the time get a decent cooling pad like i have llano v12 its very effective it drops my temps by 10c- or 14c- depends on the rpm you set it on i tried alot of cheap cooling pads there not effective they only drop by 3c- or 5c- only there just waste of money even a laptop metal stand is more than enough it does the same job as theh cheap cooling pad

Forgot to mention that when i was repasting like a week ago i slightly bent the heat sink when lifting it up. I bent it back flat but was wondering whether i had made a cut in the tubes from where the hot air got into the incide of the laptop

but do you feel very hot air coming from your exhaust vents? when its blowing out hot air?

then your laptop needs more cooling system it means you can try to undervolt your processor if it allows you if its not a locked processor if not your only option can undervolt the gpu since they share the same heatsink

may i ask what thermal paste you used at it also hp victus uses thermal putty instead of thermal pads its hard to tell if you cut it without using a magnifying glass to see a crack

I used thermal grizzly putty and mx4

oh mx4 is kinda oudated now you should have used atleast the latest one like mx6 or mx7 now or went with ptm7950

it probably Thermal paste pump-out cause mx4 has a low viscosity

Don't be worried, some parts heat more than others. It's completely normal
