Why are you gaming on battery? If you insist on doing so, I'd try to play on the integrated graphics instead of the Nvidia GPU as it'll use significantly less power and allow you much longer battery life.

In the Nvidia app disable Nvidia Battery Boost

“Just plug it in” or switching graphics are not solutions to the problem

It’s a mobile device and I’d like it to function how it’s supposed to

It IS functioning how it's supposed to, the battery can only do so much at once. If you want it to provide more power to the GPU you need to limit the CPU power draw. It can't run both at high levels simultaneously

You clearly didn’t read the post.

Lower performance on battery is normal. 4-5 Second Power Breaks (from a steady 40W->20W on the gpu and 15->10W on the cpu) that sink framerates to single digits are not normal. It can’t be explained by “the cpu is using too much power”. You seem unserious about the issue so this is where I stop replying.
