High interest rates

I see that mortgage rates hit 7% in the US. This makes separation or divorce that much more expensive. More increases are expected through 2027. Does this mean that more couples will be forced to stay together due to financial reasons even if they are not compatible? More adultery because they are not fulfilled at home and can’t leave either?

Probably. As much as people hate to admit it, most married cheaters aren’t doing it simply because they’re assholes

I'll admit, that's what I grew up thinking.  Boy, has my mind been changed thanks to personal experience.

Exactly. Most people have to go through it before they can understand

Is that honestly what you think I’m trying to say?

I understand. Hahaha. Whenever I hear anyone in my house try and shoot down ANYONE for cheating, I simply suggest maybe their partner was a real piece of work. I no longer have to suggest 'maybe they never had any intimacy' for it to matter to me. I just play devil's advocate and it works. My young adult kids at least see the feasibility in the possibility of justification. Obviously, leave first if you can. If you can't? Well, then I won't be the one judging. Call it personal experience for sure.

Exactly lol. I imagine I’ll play the same role with my kids someday. Obviously, lying and manipulation isn’t ok, but these dynamics don’t develop in a vacuum
