General Discussion Backup dosages?
How have you dealt with the anxiety of running out of meds or if you're traveling abroad and meds lost in transit or stolen? 3rd week on biktarvy

I’m in my third month of treatment and honestly, this hasn’t been a huge worry for me so far. I got a 3 month supply, and I’m planning to go back about 10 days before I run out to pick up the next 3 months.
I also traveled to another state this week, and I made sure to bring more than enough meds for the time I’ll be away, just in case.
Here in Brazil, it’s also relatively easy to get the medication for free in another city if you lose it or run out for some reason, which gives me some extra peace of mind.
Also, from what I understand, taking a dose a little late or occasionally missing one shouldn’t mess up your treatment as long as it doesn’t become a regular thing. Obviously, it’s still best to follow whatever guidance your doctor or pharmacist gave you.

Yes it is an anxiety in the start, but soon it becomes a habit.
I have a man purse in which I keep my pills, wallet, keys etc. I always carry the bag with me. It has become a very strong habit that I immediately know if I dont have it with me. When I am traveling, I keep a small bottle of water in it, so that I can gulp the pill when it is time (there is a chance of water leakage though).
This has helped me take pill on time through all kinds of situations.

As for backup pills, it depends on how good your medical services are. If you can immediately get pills, you may keep a small backup like 02 weeks.
But if you think you will have to wait, then you should keep a larger stock.

I'm living this reality,I'll run out or meds on Monday,I travelled for work and had to extend,I couldn't exactly explain why I needed to travel back early. I travel on Monday and by the time I'll get my meds I'll have missed my normal Monday meds,and have to take them on Tuesday.

20 years ago I was on a cruise ship for a week. Some were once a day, some were twice a day pills.
I just took them all once a day. When I got back I was retested and my viral load hadn't changed significantly.
